Well, Binx made grits again! This time we made the recipe Chief gave us for Shrimp and Goat Cheese Grits w/Tony C's. It came out pretty good. But I think eating an entire plate of that stuff for dinner is a little much for me. It would make a good side dish, but I started getting a little tired of eating just that for dinner. I'm still liking them best plain with butter, so far! ;) Hoist! 8)

According to Wikipedia I think they would be same/similar...

"Grits is a type of corn porridge and a food common in the Southern United States consisting of coarsely ground corn. This is similar to many other thick maize-based porridges from around the world such as polenta. It also has a lesser resemblance to farina, a thinner porridge."

I'm with you as far as them being better as a side than the entree. Still good, but they would get old if you had a whole bowl full. Give me one good dollop on the side of the plate and I'm good to go.

Gritted out - all these years and that's the first time I ever heard that one.  That phrase has lots of potential, Binx! Reminded me of rides across West Texas (and other parts of the west) through dust storms with sand (grit) in my teeth.   :)

Nice ride yesterday evening - last night at the lake we had crawfish AND grits, Cajun style.  Very good - crawfish, grits, and Cajun seasoning.  And beer.  And another as I recall.  Later on maybe one (?) more, but who's counting?   :drink:
