I know some will like some of the CVO Ultra paints, the anniversary model is promising, but honestly I am very dissapointed in the MOCO on this matter. The other three CVO models feature some really sweet, really technical, and really CVO worthy paints and designs. They even have an Ultra anniversary model non CVO bike available - though the CVO paint blows that one away. The other added features are very nice, maybe its the 3rd year in a row thing, but it just feels like a half azzed attempt to throw together yet another E-Glide CVO - 5th year in a row now!

Sad, This would have been the perfect year for a SERG, they have this whole BS 105 anniversary thing to milk and a saturated CVO E-glide customer base. Incorporate the new SERK front and rear wheel/swing arm setup - throw on the the 17/18" wheels - the new Springer AC, no tour pack, radical paint with detachable pillion. Go after some of the Street Glide hype.  Meanwhile 4 years of CVO E-glide customers would start drooling at the thought of the upcoming 2009 SESG or SEEG.

Dang!  The '08 SERK has a six gallon tank, ABS, and looks better to boot (not to mention hopefully having the engine sorted out a little more).  Oh well, serves me right for thinking the days of not buying a first year were over.

Me too Henry. I'm looking at 2012 or 2013. Do we have any scoop on what they'll be like yet? What is your inside guy saying? Mine is keeping pretty quiet on anything past 2010.

Dunno, haven't spoken with him lately.  Haven't really cared much since the design is going away from user sustainment and maintainability and heading the way of Lexus where users will have to go to the stealer for an oil change.  Next thing you know, the engine is going to have to come out of the frame just to change the oil filter.  That's pure speculation of course, but I'm sure we'll all agree that manufacturers these days are designing "return to dealer for service" into everything they're marketing.  That cuts into my maintenance time with my scooter in the garage, which is something I very much enjoy as a stress relief.  I believe 2006 was the last year of the user sustainable and maintainable bike.  And the paint for 2008........... :puke:

From examining the 2008 Tech Specs for the Touring models posted elsewhere, it seems like a major setback to the aftermarket.
New brakes (pads, rotors, lines, master cylinder), new top mount battery, ECM with throttle and cruise, new ECM location, new grips, new tank, new seat mounting, consoles, wheels (bearings for ABS).
The new aftermarket catalogs will be loaded with "except '08".  It's good marketing for HD.

Good catch........which means the Fatbook will eventually get fatter.

hdfatboy, no change to the trans/5th gear... the sound will be the same as '06.  8)

oh, and it's 40 watts per channel... 160 total.  :2vrolijk_21:

and the clock in the speedo is for non-radio models.
you do get a 'remaining miles to empty' feature added to the LCD screen in the speedo.

Is the new throttle wired internally in the handlebar like the heated grips?

 56997-07
HEATED HAND GRIPS
IN-STORE PURCHASE ONLY Contact dealer for pricing and availability.

Fits '96-later XL, Dyna®, Softail®, VRSC™ and '96-'07 Touring models. Not compatible with internally wired handlebars. MSRP US $249.95

Based on this statement I'd expect to see that NO grips will be compatable whatsoever. :huepfenlol2:
