The 5000 is good too.  I love the #1 maduro 26th anny...Big bucks but worth every puff.  The #9 and #2 also...

I keep coming back to the 858s myself but they are hard to find.  Have you tried the curly heads?  It's the same tobacco as the 858s (and 1/2 the price) but the they are made from the left over long leaf filler and it gives them a twisty look.

I need too try those curly heads or 858's, my local shop doesn't have them so I will be searching them out on the road. I just grabbed some more Padron 5000's as they are my current favorites ( along with the anniversary's ) but I'm also liking the Rockey Patel Vintage 1992's.

Cigars
« Reply #83 on: July 21, 2008, 04:36:20 PM »

Over the past six months or so I've picked up the habit of smoking a cigar from time to time.  Usually on overnight bike trips after dinner and with a cold beer or cocktail!
 :drink:

I need some advise!  My problem is I don't know a good cigar from a bad one.  What I've been doing up until now is just picking up a few different cigars each time I go to the tobacco store and giving um a try.  So far my favorite is a Macanudo Hampton Court.  Very mild.

Any suggestions from our resident cigar experts (Miker, Robmay, MJZ, etc.)?

It is what you like!  Trying differnt wrappers, sizes ring gages is part of the learning how to discern your taste.

I don't usually smoke a mild cigar but Perdomo Champagne is a nice one.

http://fujipub.com/perdomocigars/

Nicely built....smokes easy and even  good price.

My favorites are Ashton VSG, medium bodied and Padron 1926 maduros, yum.

Enjoy the trip and price does not always make a good smoke.

OHHH Man - between Miker and I you could be in for some serious, serious cash flow expenditures.

to start the list:

Padron 2000, 3000, 4000 and some like the 5000
Arturo Fuente, Chateau (I like a maduro wrapper)
Bolivar - these are hit or miss...
Some good less expensive - CONSUEGRA CIGARS from Jr's  http://www.jrcigars.com/index.cfm?page=home
CAO - Like the Brazilia
Cuesta Rey - bunch of nice smokes.
El Rey De Mundo (ERDM)

I could go on for hours - cigars, coffee and rum are some of my serious vices...  I have two Coolers of cigars at home.

PM me your address I will send you a gift pack!

My all time favorite is a Gloria Cubana Series R #5 Maduro. Nice easy draw, good burn. Great smoke. Q and Neal seem to be fond of then too. :2vrolijk_21:

Famous Smoke is a good site to buy on-line from too.

All of them above plus are great......I find Cigars much like Wine
not real hard to find good Cigars if you are willing to spend some coin, but the real trick is finding a great Cigar that you like that doesn't cost 25.00/stick
I personally like most of the ones mentioned but like to splurge on reserve when I can get them.
I never seem to care much for the Cohiba that are avail in the states, but have taken a liking to the original Cuban Cohiba's
