2006 CVO
« on: January 31, 2005, 03:03:32 PM »

OK folks it is time to start guessing what the wild men are doing over in the CVO department. Will they do three bikes again? Will the do a 6 speed and a 120? I am hoping for another SERK cause I love my 2002. So lets get creative, and or if anybody has any facts or pictures I am sure we would all love the scoop.

TotalMortorcyle.com in a 2005 Interview with Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Ric De Guzman, Ric said of the future:

"TMW: What do you foresee Harley Davidson focusing on more in the future?

Ric: Harley Davidson will still continue to focus on our Heritage and Tradition, but this doesn't mean we will be stagnant in our motorcycle designs. Our traditional buyers are white males in their mid-40's with above average incomes. We are focusing on designing more new models that will appeal to urban and younger riders so that we can start growing our clientele. There is a new market trend that Harley Davidson will also focus more on, and that is the growth in female buyers. Female riders love our Sportster models and are buying up about 35% of all our Sportster sales. By designing more of our current and future models with lower seat heights we will be able to better meet the needs of short legged riders, and smaller female riders. Our 2005 Sportster 883L features a seat height of just 26 inches, making the 883L the lowest Sportster ever.

Harley Davidson is also looking at growth outside of the USA (North America) and into non-traditional markets.

TMW: What things might we expect to see from Harley Davidson in the future?

Ric: The future will be very exciting for Harley Davidson and its riders. Our new Harley Davidson V-Rod (VRSC) liquid cooled V-Twin engine is a big technological development for us. This engine is too good to be available to only one model and we plan to use this great engine, thus sharing V-Rod technology in many more of our upcoming models. Harley Davidson cruiser owners have been telling us they want more power. We are listening and therefore will be refining our cruiser engine to feature more horsepower and improvements so that we can give the customers what they want.

Our Sportster lineup will also be expanded soon to offer even more to each rider. Speaking about the Sportster lineup, we are looking into the possible release of factory-customized Screaming Eagle motorcycles for the new 883 releases. As Harley Davidson likes to keep everything as secret as possible I cannot "officially" say yes to this one, but I would look out for new Sportster R models featuring the V-Rod engine in the near future!

Here is a great tip for seeing what is to come in the future from Harley Davidson. Take a look at the Screamin' Eagle models for 2005. They were actually produced to gauge the interest of you, the rider. You will notice new features and changes on these Screamin' Eagle models that have not come out yet on our mainstream models. The current V-Rod engine is 1130cc, while the 2005 Harley Davidson Screamin' Eagle V-Rod engine is 1250cc

yeah but....I always like those 2 words. They always came in handy when you were in some kind of trouble you could always say yeah but what about this or that. Never really worked that well. I guess I am looking for more of a guess from what is in your hearts as to what CVO might do or if someone knows from their brother's friend's buddy's girlfriend who knows a guy who was at a bar and heard that they were going to ...... I also agree, no one should be stamped with a bike for females or males or short or tall. It's all about what you want. My wife loves to ride, she has a soft tail and never went to this is a good one for a girl. This year I asked her if she wanted to try to ride my SERK and she said Oh honey I can ride your bike. I said Yeah but!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] HD understands to sell more bikes they need to attract all riders. So what is in store for 06?

Dickie, I was from SD before moving to PA. I try and ride year round but sometimes it can be a bit cold. I am with you lets ride. Look forward to the man with the answers. I think I want to be a 2 CVO family if the 06 is something special to be excited about.

I think it will be back to a road glide.  You will not see a 120in motor because of the EPA.

Do you know if the regulations for Big Dog are different than the ones for the MoCo because of the volume of motorcycles produced?  It is interesting that the S&S 117ci motor is approved.  According to what I have determined the biggest issue is with ambient motor noise which S&S apparently reduced through the reduction of cooling fin size.

If they go 120 it would have to be HD. I kind of agree with the EPA problem so at least they should keep it as a 103. I still don't know what "it" is going to be. I don't think a RG that would be 3 in a row yes? Have they done anything 3 in a row? I would have to check. Anybody know off hand?

41 degrees today in PA almost went for a spin. Still too much salt on the road. I think Road King [smiley=confused5.gif]

I think that they are going to come out with a roaring CVO Ultra Classic. Stay with the 103, drop a 6 speed in it and deck the thing out in chrome, newly designed wheels and a killer paint job. I think that bike would fly off the showroom floor (if it even got there). As far as the other bikes are concerned, they would be stupid not to do another fat boy but it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't do the VRod. It would be nice if they came out with a chopper but I don't think they have it in them. My .02 (or .01 depending on how you see it)  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

My guess is a little pedal powered scooter with training wheels; probably pink with light purple flames.  The first bike in the Junior CVO family ?   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
