Thanks 70_GTX for the review of the NewLine. Living in Ca I would like to lane split and the width of the tw trailers would make it impossible. This is probably not a smart to thing to do but it would be nice to have the choice. The idea of mounting two kick stands sounds like it would take care of most of the off bike problems. I also like the simplicity of one tire and one set of bearings. It might also fit in the garage and not have to be stored outside. Sounds like I'm talking myself around the mounting issue.  :-\ And now the cost...  Doc

And did Kathy "know" all the facts before you posted it on the WWW  :nixweiss:

Oh yea she knows the whole story with nothing left out. Arnold has told it a thousand times, to where everyone around us has heard it till they are tired of it. They call us the Dumb Azz Award Recipients :2vrolijk_21: and the poor coyote...he was probably dead when he hit the rear quarter panel on the police car....I just put the rest of him through the blender, and squisher, flattener, imploder.... you get the idea....

See how perceptive I am, I just noticed that I let the spell check change N-line to Newline. Sorry.

I think the spell check gave it better name anyway. :2vrolijk_21: Doc

Had been a tiny bit under the weather this weekend but felt better today.  The bike itself is in mid chaos right now.  Top end rebuild going on.  Wanted to mess with something that could be started and completed as a standalone.  So did this.

One hour flat counting wax stripping, installation and rewaxing.  I'll take that for a task completion most any day :2vrolijk_21: .

The trailer came from Bushtec with a silver/dull edge trim around the lid.  It didn't do a lot for the looks.  Very much a neutral.  Not good, not bad, just there.  And that was on the trailer when it was black.  Was definitely a no-go when it became red.  Even more so because it never stayed stuck on very well.

After the red paint job the edges looked fine without any edge trim at all.  Like this:

The wheel wells picked up a couple of small rock chips though.  And the edge of the lid had a couple of rough spots you could catch a finger or a garment on.  Given the new color scheme I thought a gold edge trim might be an improvement.  And it is.

The difference is not dramatic.  But definitely a subtle improvement.  It's actually a bit more telling in person than in the photos.  Also an improvement to have all the edges dressed with something now though.

Proof of the pudding will always be in the eating of course.  So will have to wait until usage in hot conditions to see if this sticks any better than the OE product did.  It's a pressure sensitive glue in the channel that's activated when you roll it against the surface it installs against.

Needs to set for awhile now before one would even dare "test" it a little.  But it seems at least moderately firm already.  Adding the tinge of gold did inform of me one thing though.  The wheels definitely need to be powder coated gold rather than red to finish it all off.

Sometimes the little things (accents) are more profound then the big changes. Looks good. :2vrolijk_21:

Why is it I feel like I'm watching an episode of "Twolanerider Pimps his Trailer"? :rolleyes3: :huepfenlol2:

When the trailer was just gloss black with the plain jane silver trim the wheels didn't stand out positively or negatively.  Now they're just butt ugly.

This is the old camper. I still have it and it works great. Doesn't look like much but it gets the job done. Oh yea Twolane I only paid $350 for it in 2003. Has over 50,000 miles on it from me.
A little quick story about this trailer on this trip to Sturgis in 04. My riding buddy Arnold, and I on the morning leaving the Buffalo Chip decided to ride straight home with no stops, 2176 miles. About 20 miles from Wall SD, 2 police cars passed us doing about 120 mph. I decided to fall in behind them and make some time. 1 mile from Wall a coyote ran across the road and into the rear quarter panel of the police car. It started to  helicopter and then BAM!!!! I hit the damn coyote at 120 mph. Well it destroyed many plastic parts on the bike, all on the right side.
If it werent for the trailer I really believe that I would not be here today. It helped keep the bike stable. Arnold was behind me and he said the bike came over a foot off the road, bounced once and then was like nothing happened.
Yes we continued the ride after the police turned around and made me lay on the pavement thinking that the coyote guts all over my body were my guts. Arnold hosed me off with a garden hose and we finished the ride, 2176 miles in 36.5 hours.

Damn dude!!!  wow!

Here's our trailer and bike. Pulled it about a mile so far so can't really comment on how it pulls. Turned cold and snowy right after it arrived. We'll give it a good workout on the York trip. Really looking forward to meeting everyone......  :2vrolijk_21:
