Hard Saddle Bags for a 2008 SCRK ???

Hey Guy...

Questions:

Does anyone have any info on Buying a pair of hard saddle bags for a 2008 SCRK?  Spoke to my dealer today and he has no info yet on purchasing a pair of new prime hard saddle bags from his catalog.  :nixweiss:

Hoist stated in a prior topic,  " I wanted to do this before, but just got around to it. This is how our '07 SERK's should have come from the factory! The bags are from my '03 RK."   :idea3: Do I need to buy a new set of 2008 hard saddle bags or can I just find a pair in new condition and have them custom painted and installed them like Hoist did...

Also:

What's involved in color matching the custom paint of the saddle bags to match the bike?  The short non technically version would be nice to know before going to find someone to paint them.  Getting the right information is key before starting this project.  Any rough estimates on Prices for pair of hard bags, as well as how much could it cost to custom match a pair of saddle bags to match the bike.  The color of the bike is the anniversary Copper/Black.

Welcome aboard C/B CVO! You're pretty much on your own when it comes to adding hard bags. Check these threads out.

Any modern FL Removable Hard Bag fits. Find a good used set and a good painter, and off you go. I sent mine to Paint By Gene in Washington (state).

Just from looking at the paint designs on Harley's web sit, it looks like you could order Urlta hard bags in the color you want. It looks like the lines will match.

Mine were take off from a 06 Road Glide that they were converting to a trike.

I paid $700 for the pair.  They were brand new.

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy them from the dealer.  You will pay a arm and a leg (perhaps two!)

I bought used (600 minus locks) and painted at Jam Customs in WPB, Florida.  They are spot on to what the factory should have done, or something similar.

Now I need to start doing my own homework in finding if the Ultra color hard saddle bags do in fact match or finding a pair of not so used hard bags to fit my bike...

here is a quick cut and paste of the 08 road glide bags on a 08 SERK copper/black.  not a bad match.

Yep, that's the bike that Harley should have built from the get-go.  Like the hard bags, and REALLY like it that they went back to the full sized front fender...it now no longer looks like some frenched :nervous: version of the Fatboy fender that they put on the '07's...looks like a Road King fender dammit!
