I just wrote (then had to delete) a terrible, mean spirited, vulgar, irreverent post that was both sacrilegious and heretical and discussed, among other things AJ's fashion sense, TC's bird, Howie's deodorant and Roger's animal fetish.  This post was so awful that, being a good citizen, I immediately felt the need to report myself to the moderators via the report to moderators function pictured below.  Then found out the stupid phukking thing won't let you report yourself.  Doesn't pay to try to be a good citizen after all.  Dammit.

AJ, (and anyone else) picture if you will (ok, I didn't mean for this to sound like the sound intro to the Twilight Zone) a Bushtec Roadstar trailer.  All painted to match an 05 red SEEG (it's not yet, but it's a work in progress).

The trailer has the black bra that came with it and the black cooler cover that sets in front of the trailer on the tongue.  I've found sources for an apparently good grade of vinyl that is made to match the ostrich print leather on the tan seat. 

But the tan seat isn't always on the bike.

However, especially with the gold wide stripe that separates the red colors on the paint job I think the tan would look better than the black in any case.  But the vinyl is also offered in a couple of red shades with the ostrich print also.  One of which looks as if it would go nicely against the red paint job.

A local leather shop has also said he's sew it all up for me at a surprisingly reasonable cost.  Cost of the material and his labor would end up being a couple hundred bucks all tolled.

So whatdya think:

1) Leave the black bra and cooler cover against the red paint job?

2) Go with the tan to accent the gold stripe and the tan leather seat?

3) Go with the red so that the seat choice wouldn't matter (and hopefully it'd be a nice complementary look much better than just the black)


So, whadya think?

This is an absolute no brainer. Everyone has seen your & Candy's bikes with the tan seat. It is stunning! It is the way Harley should have made it if they had any imagination (or courage) whatsoever. Go with the tan and don't look back. It will be a one of a kind.

I did somewhere in between when you quoted me, tan pigskin rather than black.

Rog, for reasons I don't claim to understand the materials people all say not to use a leather or other natural skin for this application.  The Corbin people didn't want to sell material matching the seat once they discovered it's use (yeah, Corbin turning down $$$).  The sew-master at Bushtec said they'd had terrible luck over even the medium term.  And the leather guy here, once he understood what I was doing with it, said to find a good vinyl rather than any leather product.

I do like the tan idea myself though.  That's probably what it'll end up being.  Never above outside enlightenment though.  That's what this crowd is for  .

AJ, barring some strongly compelling idea I've not thought of that is my choice too.  Even with the black seat on the bike the tan bra on the trailer would still be complementary and attractive.  That gold stripe just bring it together.  The black seat has the red welt cord on it to tie it to the bike as well.  I agree with you though.  That tan just looks great against this color and paint scheme.
