Glad to see your being taken care of and getting the repairs required for many more enjoyable miles. :) Makes me wonder how effective these modified self-adjusting tensioners will be.

Yeah, we'll know after some of you start getting 25-30K on the new scooters.  :nixweiss:

YEEE *@#!%*!! Haw!!!

Got Maybelle back and in the words of Bon Scott (AC/DC) She's got balls!!!

Those 575s made a big difference -- rear tire wanted to go around me and meet me at home.

My chan tensioners were really bad... one was nearly gone and the other was quite worn. Hopefully I can get some pics and dyno charts up tonight.

They definitely make a difference, and if you're like me the first time I rode mine after the mod I had to look down to make sure I was on my bike. Glad to hear you like them. :2vrolijk_21:

Jamey,

Glad to hear the upgrades to your bike put a smile on your face ! ;D   Want to see the pictures of those chain tensioners.   You got really lucky on how many miles you had on them.   Looking forward to seeing you guys in November is there any chance of seeing you both at the Maggie Valley gathering?

That's great news.  Great to hear you're enjoying the difference.  The whole affair does beg a question though.

Since the site has had reports of those tensioners giving up at less than 20k and as many as 50-60k how far will you run Candy's new motor and do the 575s in it just as a prophylactic against another set of cam tensioners?

10-20K, depending on the retiree job market.
(No one ever got bucks serving in the military.  :huepfenjump3: )

I failed on the pics yesterday and the shop failed on the charts. (So fricken frustrating!!!)
When I first saw my bill and chart, I questioned a charge and the owners wife, cute as a button with obvious blonde roots, threw away my old bill (and chart) and gave me a new one. When I asked where the chart was she admitted to the mistake and said 'no problem, I'll get john to print a new one tomorrow and we'll mail it to you.' I said I'd stop by at lunch.. I get there, she doesn't work on wednesdays and so I asked john and he went away to print the chart again...

Now this is where not being a dyno guy comes in... I didn't know that they make a lot of runs and retriving "the one" might be difficult. John came back with a chart that was NLT 5 hp & tq less than what I had seen the night before. I told him this was not right and he said he would try again to find the final run...

Possible moral to this??? It is your pick, get good service with questionable customer relations, or good customer relations with questionable service. Hey, it's just money right?  :P

A lot will depend on how the break in of the new engine goes ----- timing, etc.

Good to hear your ride is back.

I'll look forward to ride reports on the two of you and where you go to burn off the pent up frustrations of not being able to get in the wind while the bikes were getting done. :2vrolijk_21:

Well, Opie called me yesterday and said my bike won't be ready till next week, so no bike this weekend, and it is gorgeous.  Hope you are all out enjoying the wonderful weekend.  We'll slip down next week and pick up my bike and the break in of a new engine will begin again.

Candy, is this a "delay" because of some mechanical or supply problem?  Or is it just not done in as optimisitic a time frame as your riding urge was hoping for?

Opie says he is the store's fireman - they had a few fires and so the delay.  He said he hated to feel like he had to rush the reassembly, and I assured him, to his relief, that when rushing is needed, it did not need to be on my bike.  The delay of one more weekend is not going to upset me anymore than I already am, so I want him to take his time and put my bike back together perfectly.

That is the best approach for you to take, I know how you feel having been in it before and it's out of your hands so it's best to relax. I suggest if possible to pick the bike up on Friday morning and break it in - Local - That way if a problem occours you won't have to make another appoiment to return all the way back to have it looked at.

There is a mirco tel next to the dealership get a room and ride it and make sure it okay before you travel home.
