The warranty was solid. Nothing has been added to change the configuration. All stock.
I believe the engine comes with a one year warranty. Since I still have a year left, that should add to the engine's warranty.  We'll see. ::)

Sounds good. :2vrolijk_21:

I'm not so sure about that , in fact I'm almost 100% sure that replacement parts do not automatically extend the warranty unless HD or the dealer specifically makes that happen.  I do believe however that any issue that is covered under warranty should be covered as long as that specific component keeps failing (which may require some coercion or letter writing).
If not for this issue, we'd have little to do but ride.  :)

I agree. Warranty expires on everything at the original expiry date, regardless of what's been replaced.

The SE 110 2008 motors are that granite finish powder coat, your 07 is not.

 :'(

I checked with the Dealship. The motor will be original color and Vin #, only it will be an "08" version with upgrades.
Can't ask for any better than that. :cucumber: :apple: :pineapple: :pepper:

Has anyone with a SE that has the 110 motor in it had the rear cylinder gasket replaced with Rev 1,2,3,4,5 gasket and had no problems since then?
I am wanting to know if that is possible or is this motor going to leak oil forever??

I have an 08 SEUC and I have 8400 miles on it and I have a slight seep that is getting on the rear fins and leaving a oily residue. When it gets warmer here in Tucson I am afraid the leak will get allot worse. At 10K I am going to have Harley address the oil leak and I wonder if the latest gasket is going to fix the problem. I know they have come out with so many revisions and I am hoping the latest one will fix it.

Actually, there is still only one official revised gasket, 16801-07A. It is true that there is an experimental gasket that is being sent to the dealers for repairs, but that gasket still does not have a number stamped on it. If this gasket is approved in all markets, it will become 16801-07B. The official statement whispered to me is "So far it looks good." Hopefully this means 100% success rate in sealing leaks.

On the other hand, if your motor experiences cylinder liner movement, a new gasket will not fix that. When the liner slips, the leak can't be blamed on a gasket. Unfortunately both of these failures have the same result and get lumped together under "Leaking head gaskets".

As they say, only time will tell.

Ditto! I am going to put 3000 hard miles on the Serk next week so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Have about 6500 miles on it so far.

Dealer in Tucson, AZ, replaced my gaskests with "latest revised" part # 16801-07C. I saw that part # stamped on gaskets before replacing and lokks like compressed asbestos graphite coated, one piece composite gasket, hoping finally a remedy for us. Now my bike is on the shop because I had a little accident on january 19, a friend ond his bike hit me from rear but fortunately minor hurts, and bike only replace parts. I didn't fall down. May be next week 'll be ready for more miles and monitor very closely these new gaskets and any other undesired defect. Beer and bike are not always good combo.

Sounds like the experimental gasket has made it through all of the hoops it was jumping through. I hope it works as well as they have been intimating.

Glad to hear your 'incident' was a minor one and everyone is OK.  :2vrolijk_21:

chief, as you said, what about the liner issue?

Are they changing these in pairs, or just the leaker?  Do you think the thickness may be different causing different compression?
