Yes, twice.

Fixed once already during the 2,500 mile service.

Scheduled to get it fixed again during the 10,000 service.

The second time it would have cost me $1,168 in parts and labor had it not still been under warranty.  I've got 11 months remaining before I need to decide whether or not to purchase another warranty.

I'm on my third fix and I'll be canceling my extended warranty when the standard runs out 9/08.  I'll be taking it to GMR to get it fixed for good.

So far my scoot has been in the shop for a total of 3 months to correct this problem with little results.

BAD MOTOR COMPANY! BAD!

I love this bike though.....

I don't know if I would cancel the warranty for the whole bike just because you are going to get the top end reworked. There's a lot of coverage you'll be losing, for instance electronics, that are very pricey to fix/replace. Just something to think about.

That is the only reason I have an extended warranty - for the electronic stuff.  I wouldn't let em work on anything mechanical anyway....warranty or not....learned that lesson many years ago.  No one cares as much about my stuff as me and no one is as careful with my stuff as me - no scratches or dings from wrenches - and I know what I have when I am done.  But, as Chief says, that electronic stuff is pricey...

So far the only thing my bike has been in for under warranty is that the CD player was skipping.  (I only have 1,300 mi. on the bike and it'll be a couple of months 'til spring- when I can ride again.)  The head of the service department called me back to the shop while I was waiting to get my 1,000 service done.  He wanted me to see what they were doing to fix the problem.  I was told that there is little clearance between the radio and the fork leg support inside the fairing.
I didn't have a CD with me when I rode the 50 mi. back to my home, so I couldn't check it.  The next day I went for a ride and brought a CD along to see if the problem was fixed.  -Surprise, surprise!!  The goofy thing skipped 10 times as bad as it did before I took it in.
It's a good thing I know about the potential cylinder leaking problem from reading the posts on this site.  -I'm going to head it off right now!  I just bought a fresh tube of super glue and I'm going out in the garage to put a couple drops around the edges of the cylinders.  (Don't try this advanced technique unless you're willing to void your warranty!)  I'm sure this will work as well as what the dealership will do- if I have a problem.

That is a correct statement so far. Hopefully, in the near future, the MoCo will do something to invalidate your approach.  ;D

Well, exactly 1 year old and made it over 13,000 mi and now starting to see some weepage at the rear cylinder head gasket and in between jugs at the case on the left side. Just when I thought my '07 was going to outlast you poor souls that have been going through this for a while. I will be putting 400-500 mi on this weekend and see how she looks.  Dammm, I guess I'll be joining the club soon.

So far, you approach is equal to all preventative and corrective action applied by the MOCO engineering braintrust... :2vrolijk_21:

I just picked mine up from the second repair at 11,800 miles.  Local friend with 110 has same issues.  Also his second repair.  Keeping it stock won't eliminate the problem, only makes it slower to get there!

Sorry for being late with this.
Primary chain with the auto tensioner @ 6171 miles
Rear cylinder @ 6410 miles
Total Mileage 7017

This is a update in the CUSE2.
Had the Winchester Dealer do a crank runout.  MoCo is replacing the engine with an "08" and all the latest updates.
It look like when riding season comes again, I will have to break-in a new engine.
Darn, I'll have to find something else wrong. ;D ;D

How is your warranty on the bike. A new engine won't come with a new 2 year warranty. If you don't find the problems quickly, you may be left holding the bag. :nixweiss:

The SE 110 2008 motors are that granite finish powder coat, your 07 is not.

I made it to 13,500 miles on my '07 before I noticed oil leaking down onto the transmission. I also was having "blowby" just recently with oil dripping from my A/C onto the exhaust pipe. Just got it out of the shop yesterday. They replaced the rear cylinder, gaskets, and rings. Dealer said "blowby" should go away now that new rings have been placed. They said my front cylinder was ok.   My heated hand grips crapped out also. They replaced the left handgrip only? They heat up now but they sure don't get very warm, even on high--but then again they never did. Everything was covered under warranty. My invoice shows $325 in parts and $220 in labor(3.4 hours) to fix the rear cylinder leak ($545 total).  Then it was another $357 to fix the heated handgrips- $240 parts and $117 labor (1.80 hours).  They told me they used a "wet" technique to place the gasket, which they said means they used a copper colored liquid paste sealer which hardens ( looked like permatex to me) when they replaced the gasket.

There was another biker picking up his '07 Black/orange jester when I dropped mine off last Monday, and he said his rear cylinder oil leak had just been fixed for the third time. I guess we will see what happens. My warranty runs out this August. The additional 5 year extended warranty ( 7 yr total w/ factory warranty) is $1494 plus a $150 surcharge since I didn't buy it within the first 30 days of new bike purchase. I am seriously considering the extended warranty since I plan on keeping this bike for a few years.

:indian_chief:

The warranty was solid. Nothing has been added to change the configuration. All stock.
I believe the engine comes with a one year warranty. Since I still have a year left, that should add to the engine's warranty.  We'll see. ::)
