Well, finally got me. I got just over 5k on the second motor and the leak is back. Rats!  It's not bad, but needs to be cleaned up after a ride so that it doesn't stain the jug.   I'll hold off for as long as I can before getting the recall work done on it. The motor runs great and the mileage isn't too shabby either, but the frigg'n oil leak is enough to drive ya batty.

I marked this poll as "no problems" at about 5000 miles, but at 6000 I started "weaping" oil about 1 week after I received the "recall" letter.  Bike's at the shop now.

I have roughly 12,000 miles on my bike and I have had the gaskets/o-rings replaced 2 times once at 3500 and again at 8200 each time they say they are the" new and improved version" of the old and not so good ones

5600 miles on 110B and no issues to date.  I would be curious to see if there were statistical differences from the 110 to the 110B with the counterbalanced shaft.  Can you compute this from data given?

Drove it off the showroom floor...8 miles....oil leak. Had the recall work done at 500 miles and new pipes/SERT/dyno at 1000 miles. So far no leaks. Although, I haven't had a chance to put many miles on it since the dyno. Expecting 10 inches of snow here starting in the next hour.

Awesome handle there, Repo Man.  Many years ago, while stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY, Renea and I lived next door to a Repo Man.  I was fortunate enough to ride along on several repossessions.  What a rush!  Lots of fun.  Had a blast.   :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Finally got the drips.......she's in for a jug job.  thought I'd treat her with a diamond cutting.   my bike made it to around 14K before the rear head gasket started to drip...

Mine is now at dealer in Tucson, AZ. Rear jug oil leak again. 1st time from head gasket at 9,000kms(5,600 miles). Replace a new revised head gasket on both heads and rear cylinder with both rings. Now, oil leak at bottom of rear cylinder at 23,00kms (14,300 miles). Service asistant at dealer put VIN on system checking for recalls and there's a recall for my VIN for replace both heads. Bottom oil leak is not recall but is warranty claim. I'll share labor with warranty claim and replace both pistons for SE 10.25:1 forged paying about 1-2 extra hours only. Also will send to CNC port the new heads that comes from warranty. I'll see how many horses increase with that. Now is 98HP and 108TQ with SE air intake, SERT, SE257 cams and Rineharts true duals. Also in warranty claim, heated grips don't work, bluetooth hands free module either, broken spring on tour pack latch, weak spring on stand, fuel gauge sender fake by 1/4 tank reading (gauge shows 1/4 remaining and I'm out of fuel on the road), power unlocking relay works sometimes, timing cover chrome peeling off, and don't remember what more. I think too much money for too many defects and lack of quality control bike. Happy 2009!!! :drink:

...broken spring on tour pack latch...

I have the same Leather Premium Tour-Pak on my 2007 FLTR. I'm on my third lock for the Tour-Pak. The first one had a problem with the spring that kept it from opening properly so I had to manually raise the latch catch with my finger before shutting. The second one fell out while I was driving down the road between Sturgis and home. So far, the third lock seems to be working okay.

Jgandara,

Charlie this will help you...
I installed a 6 speed builder's kit from Rev Tech Custom Chrome in my last bike, a 2002 Fat Boy. I put it myself on home and works great, but noisy on all gears but 5th (5th is helical cut direct gear drive). The gears are straight cut, and I tried some oils and Red Line shock proof reduced gear noise a lot, but still noisier that stock 5 speed, BUT I paid $1099 for that gear set. That's why I don't take care of that little noise that most of time didn't feel with my V&H big shots. Now, I buy Baker R6R reverse kit ($1899) and dealer installed for me (I didn't the work for warranty purposes), and it worth a lot more than a DD7. I'm now a lot happier and not worry never reversing my 1000 lbs bike (fully loaded weight). It could save you from accident when slippery ground when parking your bike.

Yes, I put a Baker R6R reverse kit. The gears are behind that special cover. :drink:
