Mines done.  I got the bill yesterday.  Trouble is, the dealer is storing my bike until April.  I won't get to ride it until then.  I won't remember how it rode before the install and won't know if the $270 was worth it.......    :nixweiss:

jgeorge,
I know this doesn't really help, but I just had it installed on my Jester, and trust me, it's worth the extra $$$.  Really smooths things out and the tranny isn't as "clunky" as it used to be during shifts...now if I throw some Redline Shockproof, or Spectro tranny fluid in there there, that should make it even act better.

That's what I'm looking forward to.  it was real jerky at slow speeds in 1st and 2nd (parking lots and such).  I'm sure that's where I'll see the real difference.  Thanks for your feedback.

See one of my previous posts earlier in this thread about how it smooths out 2nd gear.  It's really noticeable at lower RPMs on how it smooths things out.

Red Devil gives the best description of the "fix" the IDS provides.  Really a smoother ride, & noticeably less surging in the overall shift pattern as well. Your bike is stored until April - brings a tear to my eye.

We have a spare bedroom that is only occasionally occupied by a returning offspring.

Floridy is nice in the wintertime, most of the bugs go on vacation in the northern regions.

I have one and was planning on installing it this month.

But I have concerns now, from the earlier posts about them coming apart. Parts designed for stock bikes might not be able to handle the modifications we do to ours. If stock is 70HP and we have 125HP, wil that destroy these things? Are these failures on modified bikes, or any bikes? What fails, and what causes it? Thanks. ;)

Only if you use all 125HP at once.  I'd worry as much about the drive belt.  I should be safe.  I don't get much over 3000 RPM where all the HP is.  I wonder what the warranty on the part is?

Most parts are w.....tied for 90 days, unless installed at time of delivery of new bike. And I worry about breaking everything! ::)

I wouldn't worry at all Howie.  We've had no confirmed reports of the rubbers failing (though they will eventually of course) here, and just the one "friend of a friend" type story.   They've been fitted to the V-Rods since they were introduced, (and I've heard of no failures) and they are not lacking in power, so I can't see them being a problem on our bikes.

Thanks for the response Jim. After what I've gone thru, I'm not looking to break down on the road again. I'm hoping next year is the YEAR OF NO BREAKDOWNS!!! ;)

Indeed, for all of us....  I don't fancy a repeat of this year's being stuck 3000 miles from home in a non-English speaking country with a deceased 110" engine myself!

Howie,
With as much as you keep doing to that engine, it won't be out of the shop long enough for it to break down on you.   :huepfenlol2:  Unless it breaks down on the dyno.   :P

Considering all you went through in 07, I sincerely hope this comes true for you, Howie.  Make that "YEARS", instead.  :2vrolijk_21:
