Howie,

Have you ever considered doing this as a blog instead? Especially if you intend to keep it going for some length of time. That way, everyone who wants to follow along can get it all in one spot, without having to read through 40 pages of posts.

I think you're writing style would make for an interesting blog.

It's not a forum and no participation is required. Blog is short for web log. It's like a journal or diary and is how many people write to tell a story. You should check out UltraFXRs blog on the Posse Ride.

I'm not interested in furnishing any info outside this forum. If you're not interested in the subject, don't read it. If others aren't interested, just let me know. I won't share my experience with the group. Sounds simple enough to me. :confused5:

I think some may be misunderstanding Chuck's intent. :nixweiss: What I'm getting is that in a blog all the information is in one place and there aren't any interuptions (irrelevant posts) this way you don't have to sift thru 40 pages of posts to get the information. Unfortunately because this is a discussion forum and general conversation (discussion) will wander off at times you have to read many pages of posts to get all the (pertinant) information. I don't think Chuck is complaining about the amount of posts or saying the thread is insignificant I believe his intent was there is a lot of (good) information here that may be better if it was all alone uninterrupted somewhere.

Howie is very passionate about this build and has the writing ability to tell this story that may be better somewhere w/o any interuptions (other posts). JMHO.

I don't mind sharing my experience with our members. This is the format we have. Don't know why Chief is taking this personal. I've been polite about my intentions. Does a blog format exist here? Or can that be created here? I would love a technical section to exist that doesn't get interrupted with general discussion. This is the only place I've chosen to participate and share my experiences. I'm not here to upset people. Everyone has an opinion and an experience. Some choose to share, and some not. If the group is tired of my sharing, it's no problem for me to stop. I go out of my way to share, with the hope that this stuff actually helps people. I can't help it if it's difficult to follow, due to interruptions by general discussions. Maybe a CVOHarley Blog here would be helpful. Ya'll just let me know if you'd like me to stop. And I'm talking about the general membership, not the usual troublemakers, that think it's fine to constantly interrupt with derogatory comments. I ignore all those completely anyway now, if you haven't noticed. What the group prefers, I'll abide by. But I'm not going outside this forum for anything. I'd rather keep my experiences to myself. I care about this group, and am only trying to help. Why some people take this personally, instead of not reading it, is beyond me. :confused5:

Howie, don't feel bad about not knowing about the plethora of social media formats that are available on the WWW today.  I - like  you - only chat in one place, even though there are thousands of other places one can chat.  Even though a blog may be better suited for your type of conversation, it is not currently available here in CVOHarley.com, so what you are doing is what appears to me to be the closest to the blog format that is available to us mere mortals.  I know the moderators have the ability to create and maintain a locked thread, but that is not an option for us.  So, don't worry, be happy  :) , and keep telling us what you are up to.  We can all choose to read or not read at will.

My take on Chief's comments is the same as Gary's.  I think he was just trying to be helpful. :nixweiss:  Sometimes it doesn't always come out that way in the written word, though.

But, blog or no blog, post on, Howie.  You're part of the personality of this site and I enjoy your posts.  I may not always agree with you and/or may be surprised by some of the things you post.  In those instances, I may or may not choose to reply.  For those times when I do and you don't like what I have to say, you "don't have to read" my replies. :2vrolijk_21: :huepfenlol2:

Howie -

If you are asking for the feedback of a "general member" - I think I am a "general member".  I have met no of the other participants of the forum, and have no personal experiences with anyone - other then communicating via this forum.

I enjoy the hell out of your posts.  I enjoy your passion, I enjoy your personality and I find it very interesting to follow your exploits - whether it is your motor building experiences or any of the other topics you generate or participate in.  Looking at the number of "reads" of your threads, I would appear I am not alone.

I don't always understand the intention of some of the side comments that show up from time to time.  Many of you know each other at a personal level  - so maybe the intention of those comments are better understood by others.

I hope you hang in there and continue to report on the progress of your projects, and continue to participate just as you have in the past.  I don't believe anyone has suggested otherwise - I think Chief just threw out an alternate option...
