Have you nothing better to do than worry about my bike, since you really don't care anyway!!! Or maybe you just want to see if it breaks again, so you can break my balls about it!!! ::) :o :P :D

Hoist! 8)

Break your balls? Geeeeezzzzz, how can you afford any with all the chit you been thru with the SERK?
Actually was looking forward to seeing it run again so you can ride some with all of us instead of talking about it.
As far as not really caring your wrong. Have never seen a grown man spend so much and still wind up with so little.
Was actually hoping the saga would end with this final round of repairs. You deserve a bike that can take your riding style. Just hope this round fits the bill.
That's the problem Hoist, your just to sensitive!
As far as the surface reading you may be right but after reading the last page I figured it was being put back together! Didn't realize I didn't go back far enough.
So what's the parts problem and when are they going to start reassembly?

 :nixweiss:

Oh, the "high road" approach this time! :nixweiss:

Well, I'll take it at face value, and in the spirit it was offered.

I'm hoping for total success this time. But that's been my goal all along. Unfortunately the wrong people were involved. Not only can you not use HD parts, they can't touch it or have anything to do with the repair/engine assembly either!

The pistons sent to me were incorrect. They should be sending them back to me correct, this week I hope. Vern should then be able to start next week. Only 2 full months after we planned. Never get involved with out-of-town vendors. This went from fixing a 110 leak by HD under w.....ty, to "use whatever you want and the labor will be covered under w.....ty", to "sorry, we're not equipped to assemble such a performance engine", to "sorry we F'd your engine up, but we spent too much fixing it and can't collect from HD so take your bike to an independent", to "sorry I F'd your order up after 2 months delay"! And as of this writing, I still don't have my damn parts!!! >:(

So you'd be sensitive too if you spent over $50K and had nothing but grief to show for it. Especially when some of  your "so-called friends" give you a hard time about it, after you've told them you're upset and don't want to hear it anymore! Hard to understand the sudden change of heart and new-found compassion after all your previous responses to date indicate otherwise. But like I said, i'll take it in the spirit it was offered! (Until I see it's not genuine. I hope it is!)

It's been going on such a long time I'm sure I don't remember all the details.  If pistons are the current problem why were they being replaced?  I thought the internals were staying the same with the exception of going to gear drive cams?

Vern likes both pistons clearanced, when it's needed. Alex only clearanced the rear piston. So Wes agreed with Vern that it's better to do both of them just a little, instead of 1 of them a lot. (And he gets to sell me new pistons again too! ::) )

Oh yeah, I do remember grinder-boy working on those pistons.  Maybe a problem or maybe not.  But has to at least feel better to start from scratch.

We all are Howie!
The only spirit offered is one that says "Get the damn thing done so you can be riding"
After all you have been through I am glad you are waiting for even the minutest of details the be right before assembling. I must have missed the piston issue. (well me and Don both)
Good luck and please be patient. (that's a problem we both have)
All I want to hear after your done this time, is two years from now you are thinking it may need rings after it has 60K miles on the motor.
That would be a good thing!

Howie-

You have more patience than I've got.   The older I get the less I have of it.  It's amazing the problems you have had in these builds.  You have done all the homework but you still have to depend on others, and thus the screwups.  We all wish you the best and hope the build turns out way above what you hoped for.   :2vrolijk_21:  Bob

Howie,

Cybil may well qualify for the most worked on, most talked about, most delayed in getting ready SERK of 2007-2008.

I read here but rarely post here.  Patience is a virtue & all but this is beyond ridiculous.

Are you planning to post any "engine work in progress" pics?

Don't need no pictures!
Can't ride no pictures!
Just want a phone call so I can hear it running!
Is that to much to ask?
