Dave looked more like the Bike I was blocked by him it was like a rain storm my hands felt them it was nasty. Dave cleaned the bike right away that was early part of the summer I just never got around to posting it.

Imangine that. :confused5:  I know one thing............. they stink.   I wished I had my lowers on at the time as my pant legs and boots took a good share of them out, but s fla in late May is hot. I could actualy stand my pants up after the buggers dried up, Like starch.   ;D

Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :shocked2: :shocked2: :shocked2:  I have heard about the love bugs but never seen a photo like that of what they can do!  And you're not kiddin' about "Dave's bike dirty . . . not often seen."  He keeps a spotless scoot. :2vrolijk_21:  He's got a lot of work ahead of him now, though. :huepfenlol2:
Hope you are doing well, Helen and Dave!!

Brian
That pic was back on Memorial weekend. I thought we left early enough to beat the buggers before they came out.... I quessed wrong. Pain in the a$$. All I could do is just keep my bug trap closed and ride it out. I had no idea how bad it was till we got there. Not good at all. Went over to Naples HD and got a bottle of bug cleaner, after stoping over next door to to Doods favorite hang outs "Hooters", and had a couple cold bellywashers first. It cleaned up pretty good for as bad as it was and I could only think I had to ride back through it in a couple of days which turned out to be not as bad as we left a day break Memorial Day. Got a few but notthing like the picture Helen posted.

We have a similar bugand butterfly problem around Klamath Lake and Lake of the Woods during certain times of the summer. Before a trip that you know there's going to be some frigg'n bugs to mess with ya, try this little trick. Get some Pam (all natural ingredients) and apply a light coat on the front of your bike. It's clear and no one will notice. But, when you get done with the ride, hit it with a hose and "holy moly" the bugs just fall off. A little soap and water and the Pam comes right off too! Will not hurt the paint. I've been doing it for years and all good. Learned this from a BMW rider many years ago. Hey, it's worth a try!

I would have to find one of those car washes where you put in the quarters and hose that mess off immediately and folluw up with a intense detailing session, dOOd style.  Later,Q

The people in South Louisiana also use a very light coat of WD40. They say it works great, also. Just hose it off.anythings better than ruining your paint.
