Monitoring the other site, I am receiving conflicting info with regard to modifications / corrections. I taped the Motor Company Customer Service Rep stating changes were made to the flywheel to address the flywheel problem and my new motor had the new modified flywheel, new gaskets, and new jugs. On the other site I have received responses from individuals I have trusted in the past stating no changes were made. To say the least I am at a loss.
Changes shouldn't be that much of a mystery. Any real change should carry a revised part number. If for no other reason than for the MoCo itself to distinguish stock. Look up the part numbers from your parts catalog of the primary internal components, add a revision letter to the end of them and see if the "new" part number exists by calling a parts counter and asking if they can order it.
If there's a revised part number there's a changed part. If there's not a revised part number it is very very likely everything is the same as it has always been. No need to rely on the rumors and wisps from elsewhere when just a bit of homework has the potential to inform better anyway.
