It is called the Elbow Grease promotion.  I'm guessing the gasket is -C or -D.
When HD Marketing gets wind of the gasket changes, they'll make a Fifth anniversary edition of the gasket!

Count me in for the "Copper top" gasket set. Anything that works.  ;) Elbow grease in USA, Grease-less in Canada  :nixweiss:

Now your talking, great idea   :pepper: They should send us the parts we request under warranty and then we can either fix it ourselves or find a competent wrench to do it. HD saves labor cost to dealer and they are more likely to come up with a viable fix.

I have to take my bike in (FLHRSE4) and leave it for about a week so says the dealer so the can pull the heads and determine if the liners slipped or if the gasket leaked. Then order the offending parts and return to me.

What I would like to knoe without reading all five pages of posts, has anybody had their leaking cylinders repaired by the dealer yet that the fix actually worked?

Unfortunately that may not be the correct form for the question.  Given the redundant failures that at least several have experienced, and that no one really knows if any fix is yet final, the better question might be whose repair has lasted the longest?

OK.
I'll go with that; Whose fix has lasted awhile and how long has it been since it leaked?

I got 3,000 miles out of the intial fix. (1,800 to 4,800) Now at 10,000 and it hasn't been fixed again. Runs great, mere annoyance.

16801-07A gaskets which pretty much eliminated the leak coming out at the mating line of the head and cylinder, but allowed the oil to pool in the stud bores and weep out at the base.

I just washed off the oil seep at the base and rode it until I tore the bike down in November.

I'll put it back together here shortly and will get it worked on if it gets worse, or when winter comes back to Georgia, whichever comes first. :) Right now, it's not bad enough to worry about it.

Which is why gaskets alone will never solve this problem!!!  Don't ever let them change gaskets only - cause if you do, you'll be back...   :-\   :'(

Well, at the time I got mine done, April / May 2007, that was all they knew to do. The second repair was slated to do barrels et al, but I decided to put that off until the fix was more certain instead of opeing it up for another band-aid.

In short, I was told by a Tech Rep at HD to wait if it wasn't that bad. So I'm waiting, still.

Had not thought about that.  Had forgotten you've got at least one more repair attempt ahead of you.  And you've have to turn that beautiful new paint and delicately done reassembly over to a 13 year old tech at the dealership who just got out of tech school last month.  Oh crap.

Chuck, why the engine is out and so much easier and safer to get to have you thought about just ordering a pair of 110 jugs from Axtell?  Just a bit of extra labor now while it's easiest to get to and to save a stranger from having to work around your amazing paint.
