Add another one.  My neighbor's dealer-built 110 Road Glide started puking oil on his way back from Daytona at about 11,000 miles.  Also is beginning to intermittently start and run bad.  His comment, "Now I know the difference between my Harley and my Kawasaki.  At 10,000 miles the Kaw was broken in, the Harley is - broken." :-\

I'm new to this forum, sounds like it's going to be very informative.

I just purchased an 07 SE Ultra  and only have 1300 miles thus far.  I have not purchased the extended warr. coverage so I'm wondering, is the Moco replacing these rear cyls at their cost or ours.  It sure sems to be a systemic issue...

Thanks,

Dave

as long as you have a warranty and you keep up with your documents on scheduled maintenance yes.

First, welcome to the site!!!  When you have an opportunity, you should introduce yourself in the New Member topic.

If I had a 110 motor, I'd get the extended warranty.  I have it on my 06 with a 103...on the Ultra, there are so many do dads, one failure and the warranty will pay for itself.  Shop around for it though, as some dealers in the country will "deal" on the extended warranty prices.  Try Chicago, Charlies in WV...

This is really interesting, when I took mine in for its 10,000 service they said I had a rear cylinder leak and I think the mechanics at Latus simply replaced a gasket.  They also found that my Y pipe was cracked and had to replace that also.  The bike seems to run good now but the last dyno test was lower in HP and Torque from the first one and that's after doing a race tuner, SE air cleaner and the Y pipe mod plus V&H Ovals.

Well I should have kept my mouth shut.  As soon as I asked the question, the next day (today) I notice some seepage from the rear cyl.  I guess it's off to the shop for a nice discussion...1900 miles.  Ouch.

Is there a directory of VINs that have failed?

Thanks.

Well add another one to the list. Was at dealer today discussing with him about the dreaded oil leak & then went out & just happened to look in back of rear cylinder on case & there it was a nice little puddle of oil. Took it over to service dept. & the mechanic looked at it & said will fix it. Said they've seen about 8  of these on the 110 SE Springers. I didnt get to take any pics since i was at dealer already & just left it there.... Have 1800 miles on 08 SEUC.

when I had mine worked on I called Harley to find out about the cylinder sleeves not seated properly and the CSR told me they are aware of the problem and they are taking care of them as it comes up.   It seems to be between 15 and 20 percent of the 110's that were made but didn't say from what time frame.  They are aware of the problem or they couldn't put a percentage on the 110's. Sounds like they had a vendor problem that got past QC.
