Someone should re-title this thread "Days of our Lives"
of if Hoist takes it to the next level "General Hospital"
I hope the rant was as therapeutic for the author as it was enlightening, and in a dark way amusing from this end.
Glad the tire problem is resolved on your Honda-Davidson

Howie's posts were pretty hysterical to read, I thought. And having met Howie, I could hear his voice as I was reading his words . . . it was almost as if he were here talking to me, which made it even funnier to me. From the phone call with the lady at HOG, to the dork from the dealership showing up when he wasn't needed, to the picture in my mind of Q running 40 miles back to where Howie was with a tire strapped to the SERK, it was really a good, typical Howie-style read.
BUT, while I did get a laugh out of the post(s), the way that he was treated by HOG, Harley-Davidson, and the dealer that wanted to charge him $250 for the tow, is abominable.

I will remember this experience when it comes time to renew my HOG membership next year and will have to think long and hard about signing up again. It also makes me think twice about traveling alone on my bike, knowing the "I don't give a d@mn" attitude that is out there with some dealers. Yes, there are some that are are just the opposite and very wiling to help, but my luck is more like Howie's where I would break down near the "IDGaD" dealers. Lucky for Howie, he had Q to keep him company and chase tires, but what if he'd have been alone?
It's really disappointing to hear a story like this of the support network that exists for our bikes. Basically, according to the lady he spoke with at HOG, there's isn't one, in case you've already bothered them once this year.
