How Do You Get Rid Of The Alarm On An '07?

Hey gang, I think I'd like to remove that proximity security alarm on my '07 SERK3. I'm told you need to replace the Turn Signal Module. Is that correct? Is that all that's required? Do you rip out any other associated parts? If not, what is required? If so, what is the P/N I need to do this. TIA gang! :2vrolijk_21:

Replaced the TSM on the 02 Dyna to get the pain in the a$$ alarm to go away  ......

Well I checked with a dealer today about the parts to eliminate the proximity alarm in the '07 CVO. They told me I'd need a new, non-security TSM. But they also said they need to install it, as it needs to be setup thru the DigiTech! WTF? Is that true? I can't believe they are keeping their hands in everything on these bikes! And the '08's are even worse. My bike won't ever see the inside of an HD dealer again, if I can help it. How can this be done without them? Any ideas on this topic? TIA!

Why not just attach the FOB to the under side of the seat? The end result is the same.

Since I don't care about the alarm, I don't want to worry about an unnessary electronic gadget failing. Battery in the Fob, Fob breaking, whatever. If it doesn't have a security system at all, it can't fail. Still trying to figure out if I can just replace the TSM, or need to have it hooked up to the DigiTech to eliminate it. Thanks.

I get ya. I was looking for a cost effective solution. It would be nice if they could just disable it for you.

I think you will have to go to HD and have them remove it- as whoever does there TCM's (all models HD) have it preprogramed acording to HD MFG. Spec's.

If your worried about insurance (discount) you can get it Lojacked and then if it disappears you can go to lojack.com and activate it once you have it registered with them.

It might be more $$$ than it's worth to remove it. the price and life of the 2032 battery is about 5 years and it does kill the engine when armed so anyone would need to carry it off anyway as if that would really be a problem.

If you just want to lose the functionality, I believe that one option is to have your Dealer put the security system into the “Service Mode”. As long as the ignition is not turned on in the presence of your Fob, the machine should behave as if it does not have a security system. To re-enable the security, simply turn the ignition on with your Fob in close proximity to the machine.

This bike will not be seeing a HD dealer again. It would be easy to bring it back to them, be at their mercy, and screw 3 other things up in the process. So now I need to figure out what to do, in order to do this myself. Thanks.

Interesting. I got this email from Zanottis today regarding the removal of the security system:

"This took some looking into but, we believe all you'll need to do is replace the turnsignal module.  The part # you'll need is 68920-07"

It's about $74 on their lookup page. I asked him to double check that the TSSM can simply be removed and replaced with the new TSM, without the DigiTech or a dealer. If so he'll be ordering this TSM for me. I'll let ya'll know if it's that simple. ;)

Buy a Pre Alarm Bike.

I've got a cool '98 anniversary road king in the garage, all shined up and recently tuned.
