Success!!!Every single member of the U.S. Military who is stationed outside the U.S. will receive a hand-written thank you letter for Thanksgiving this year!!! Every Single One! Not a fax. Not an email. Not a form letter. But instead, each and every one will receive a hand-written, sometimes in crayon, letter saying thank you for what you do.
I heard on the way into work to day the "The Bert Show's Big Thank You" was a total success. In the past 17 days, they have received well over 375,000 letters from people around Atlanta and around the country to be delivered to the troops stationed around the world in time for Thanksgiving.
This was a hometown initiative that CNN, Fox News and others picked up on and spread the word. It worked. At first it looked like they were going to come up short by about 75,000 letters, but one last push got them over the top, with letters to spare.
These are all hand-written letters, some in crayon, sent in by individuals, offices, schools, the Governor of GA and just anyone who wanted to tell one soldier, whom they have never met, "Thank You".
It was an almost impossible undertaking, to get so many letters in such a short timespan, but it worked.
Here are a couple of Links:

Thank You Everyone!!!
