Hey Brian, must be a bad week for Huckleberry front fenders.  A deranged Hedge-Hog committed side-ways into mine and peeled the rear left side out into a 'flared' angle.  Not sure that it can easily be rolled back into shape w/o losing paint.  Wonder how much a 'replacement' will cost us?  And the bad thing is that you have to give them your damaged fender in 'exchange'.  I'd like to keep mine to work on and have a 'spare'.  Guess they're trying to protect the limited numbers in check.  ::) har!  spyder
Spyder,
How recently have you heard this? I can kind of understand this when the bikes were new, but you'd think now four years after the bikes were released they wouldn't require you to turn in the old parts when just purchasing one piece at a time. :nixweiss: They've got to know that these bikes are being ridden and damage will occur. Also if I remember correctly Don purchased a new outer fairing for his bike recently and I'm almost certain he didn't have to return the old one.

Ah, bummer!!!!!!!!  Sorry to hear that, Spyder. :(  I checked the price with the local dealer here on Thursday.  Are you sitting down?

$873.00 for a B/B SEEG front fender! :o :o :o

I'm hoping to get one from Jenni at Charlie's.  That would put it right at $700, plus no sales tax that way.  I will call her on Monday and let you know what I find out.

Yes, this past spring.  Didn't order it "normally" though.  Had the local dealer give me a list of all the dealers in the country that showed one in stock.  There were six or seven that showed stock if memory serves correctly.

Second one I called actually had the fairing new, in stock and ready to sell.  Had ordered it for someone and it never got used for some reason.  So they had old inventory with narrow demand they were more than desirous of moving.  Even agreed to a 20% discount when I asked how badly they wanted to move the old expensive stock in the big box.

Don't know if the fairing would have been a piece requiring VIN verification and return otherwise.  It simply never came up when I was buying this one.  Some piece are (or at least were) and some aren't.

Brian, if you're dealer won't check active stock around the country for you send me the part number.  I'll get the parts counter here to run it.  Maybe you can score a piece of stock someone would like to move also.

Don, if you get a chance before I do, the part number is: 58972-04BKK.

When I was in checking on the price, the two parts guys were asking one another about it being a protected part.  I guess it doesn't actually tell them until they go to place an order.

They are opened on Monday.  There is one guy at the parts counter is very good and willing to do anything to do a good job.  If he's there on Monday I'll run the number by Larry and see if stock shows up anywhere.  Will let you know what is learned.

Hey 2Ln, while he's checking, have him check on a front fairing for a huckleberry also......the outer (front) one.......mine has a rock hole in it and if it's possible to get one w/o having to turn in the old one, I'd 'spring' for it.  Thanks for messin' with this for us.  Just add to the free drinks  :drink: on my tab.  har!  :huepfenlol2: spyder

Ditto that for me, too.  I'll get the part number here in a couple.
