That's what I'm after, Spyder.  I actually wouldn't mind going to the '05-up vented style of lowers when I do it.  They used to list the "BKK" color for those a year or two ago, and though I did not see it on the website just now, they may still be available in the candy cobalt.  Trouble with that is, then you have the added expense of having to buy the new glove boxes, too.  Decisions, decisions. :nixweiss:

I'd be tempted to add the after-mkt. vents to my old pair, which at this point are not in bad shape ......  just to see if it really would make the bike rideable down here in the summer.  :coolblue: spyder

Wonder what the lowers cost?  :o :) That would at least give me new 'leading edges'.  8) har!  spyder

I lucked out on my spare set of lowers Spyder.  Bought the four body parts spread out over three eBay auctions for a grand total of just under a hundred bucks.  Then when I was getting the trailer painted the cost to paint it (the same color) was $500.  That included painting the traler and the lowers and the Street Glide rear light housing.  So my lowers were cheap.

After reading your post above just check cost on the 05 fender.  Holy mother of....  ??? .  $875.00 MSRP for that fender.  I may not be as interested in a spare as I thought I was.

Brian, the rest of the glove box and vent parts and hardware may not be as scarily expensive as you might have assumed.  Each side is available as a kit part number.  One side is 58683-05 and the other is 58684-05.  Cost at 20% off is $69 per side.

That's about the same, give or take a couple of bucks as the retail on the one we just ordered.  Unbelieveable, but the price hasn't gone up but about 8% since '04.  And, hopefully, they're still available.......guess we'll know w/in the month.  How did your painted parts match when it was all said and done???  I know you were happy to get them at that price.   :2vrolijk_21: har!  spyder

The painter nailed the color match Spyder.  The story board showed six or seven coats to get there (plus the clear and the base).  But it's a dead on match in any lighting condition I've looked at in.  Folks that saw the trailer in Hot Springs all saw the same thing.  Real nice match.

That's great, TwoLane.  I know (from shooting some Candies in my past life) that it takes some 'doing' to match 'em.  I can't wait to see your bike 'cause it's changed so much since I saw it in MV '06.  8) har!  :drink: spyder

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend.. update..my bike is at the dealers now for bad chrome replacement (back wheel, pass. and drivers floorboards) compliments of HD. Anyway service manager is taking pics of fender and fairing contact to submit to HD for authorization to repair or replace. I showed him the threads from this forum.. he agreed..shouldn't happen and said we'll see what we can do.

Hey 103tHunDer, did you say the cage driver's insurance was gonna take care of your new SEEG front fender?  (can you sue yourself?)  I was wondering about making a 'claim' on my collision since the danged things cost so much, but wonder about the premiums going up as a result.....might not pay, huh?  :nixweiss:  spyder

Spyder, matter of fact, I just talked to my (State Farm) agent about this last Saturday.  I can turn it in under the car's liability coverage . . . no deductible . . . and as long as the total claim stays below $750, which it will getting the fender 20% off from Charlie's H-D, then it doesn't count as a "hit" and therefore will not affect my premiums! :2vrolijk_21:

You might want to check with your agent.  They might have a similar "loop hole" that you could slide yours in under.  If it wasn't for this, I was planning on sucking mine up on my own. :nervous:

That sounds good.  My sit. would be against the bike's collision which has a deductable (I forget what) and might count against me.......I'll have to check.  I, like you, had just assumed that I'd take the total hit, but.....guess I need to check just to see.  I never can win w/ insurance it seems.  Well, the life ins. deal is working so far..... :drink:.....har!  :huepfenlol2: spyder
