Hey ya'll!!

I had the most awesome and distinct pleasure of getting the opportunity to see Barry and Josh!! Of course, his mom, Karen, the most amazingly postive sweetheart and his baby sis, our beloved CVO princess, Jessica!! (not to forget Josh's lovely g/f Audrey, his cousin Taylor and Jessica's b/f!!) It was a big group of happy people celebrating Josh's wonderful strides! He not only looks fantastic, he was in great spirits and his spirit was just beaming! It did my heart good to see how well he is doing with my own eyes!! I about cried when I actually got to see them toes wiggle!! Just fantastic!

I'm attaching a couple pics that were taken while we were there to let you see how just amazing he is doing and how wonderful a family he has!!

Sheri, thanks SO much for posting the pix.      I'm sure it was a special time to spend time with Josh and his family.

WOW!!  Simply amazing.  Can't put it any other way.  Another testament to the power of prayer.  Throughout this entire ordeal, I keep thinking of Barry's license plate PRAY4U.  Yep..........that's a good one.

Josh, you're an inspiration.  Keep up the great work, Buddy, and we'll keep praying.

Hey CVO family!! Just got off the phone with Barry and wanted to give you an update!

First and REALLY important, is if you can fine the time, post to this website
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/joshheine <----- Karen is checking this regularly and printing out updates for josh, plus there's post they're making to keep things updated! This is particularly letting Karen see what a great CVO family Barry and Jessica and Josh have! Thanks SO much!

Barry is pretty exhausted but comes here to read every morning to get a dose of the CVO love and prayers!! He just wants you to know that it's not just incredibly inspiring but special more than he can say.

Josh was supposed to have surgery on his elbow this morning. His nuerologist decided not to at this point because to his astonishment Josh's wiggling toes have blown him away! He didn't want to put under anesthesia at this point since it could set back this amazing progress.

The latest plan is that Josh and his mom will be going to Atlanta on Thursday to a place called the Shepard Institute (I'll have to verify the actual spelling and/or name). They have a specialized unit there to deal with some of Josh's issues and plan to concentrate on his shoulder first. (I'm' paraphrasing so bear with me till I know what questions to ask!)

We've done such a great job with our "wiggle them toes" prayers that the progress is a miracle. Barry said Josh's doctor is not one to sugarcoat things and really didn't expect him to walk again. His amazement is no match for our faith and prayers!! He's doing extraordinarily well wiggling them toes that we, now, need to concentrate our efforts on "wiggling them fingers". He has good movement in his wrists and arms in general but his fingers need to catch up with his toes!! SOOOO JOSH!! WIGGLE them FINGERS buddy!!

Barry wanted me to make sure that Jorge knows he's praying for "mi amigo!!"

WBarry told me a story on Josh yesterday..

hile laying in bed one of the cute nurses came into josh's room. He explained to her he thought his bt cheek was knotting up. The nurse reached under the covers and gave it a squeeze. No, it feels fine. Josh then says, check the other cheek. She does and reports no, it's fine too, and she left. Then Josh looked at his dad and got a huge grin..

I think Josh is going to be just fine.

And AJ, not to worry, I called Jessica's b/f off to the side and had a little heart to heart with him.

Josh obviously has an incredible will to recover and the Power of his faith and that of his friends and supporters here.

I am in tears tonight reading this thread.  I havent slept much this last week and am getting ready to go back to the hospital again for a goodnight Josh session.  He got his laptop from his uncle today but doesnt have internet access yet...but when he gets to the Sheperd Center in Atlanta, he will, and get to see all the posts you guys put on the caringbridge site.
It has blessed our family beyond belief!!!

We have a ton to do tomorrow to get ready for Josh and my wife to fly out on Thursday. He was cracking the nurses up this morning...in prime form...they say.

I did learn something new today...that usually if a patient that has had this surgery doesnt move within the first 48 hours...they wont move ever...BUT!!! Our God is a Awesome God...and has come through big time for Josh! The neuro surgeon was amazed and the orthopedic surgeon said it truly was a miracle...and he only seen three miracles in all his years of practice. The whole town is talking about this and the news is coming buy to do a segment on it...and we will give credit to the one who heals...our God!!!  Your prayers really have been answered and we cant thank you all enough... I am just blown away to all that has happened this last week and the support that has came from this site.  You all are truly a Godsend and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Morning Barry and family!

It's such an amazing gift to come here and see how great Josh is doing. It WAS beyond my wildest hopes and prayers but we didn't let a little science interfere with our tremendous faith!

I know that Josh has still a long journey, and we'll be there encouraging and praying and CHEERING every little bit of progress. This is evidence that good things happen to good people and there are no better people than you and your family!! Your faith and strength and positive attitudes are precious.

Let us know if there's anything we can do for ya'll with this WONDERFUL opportunity for Josh to go Atlanta and continue his healing process. I know it will be difficult being so far away but bless the internet for making it seem less so!

Here's prayers for an uneventful (good weather) and safe trip for Karen and Josh!!

Wiggle them fingers Josh!! Prayers for your continued progress and the patience your mom will need through this difficult time!!

I'm just finding this thread, so I truly apologize for not getting to you earlier.  Our thoughts are with you and your family.  Tell Josh to keep up the good work.  Wishing him a speedy and COMPLETE recovery.
