I appreciate it.  The one you got is the TWR Adjustable Super Slam?

I believe it was the super slam... it is completely adjustable from 3/4 to 3"...  it uses set screws to raise and lower.  It does not have the 1 1/4" and 2 1/4"  pre-drilled holes.

noatz                                                                                               rick, i put the kit on my ultra a few days ago. left about 8 threads showing. took it for a test and it did rub a little when hitting speed bumps at 30 mph, so this morn. adjusted it down to 6 threads. OK so far, but the real test will be with my wife on back.
    thanks for your help.  jackie

thanks for the update on the lowering kit, I am 5'11" and noticed a serious difference between the 08 and my 05.  I agree that it is the different seat as well as the adjustments to the tank.  I was used to sitting flat footed and legs bent, now I barely get flat footed on level ground........somewhat un-nerving to say the least.  Looking at the reviews on your lowering kist and may be purchasing one here shortly.

thanks again for the info

Notah,

I will have my Duracell #601 in my garage on Monday and I too am vertically challenged with a 29" inseam.

I love my '05 SEEG and it has proved to be a fabulous ride over the years... As you know, that bike came stock from the factory with a lowering kit. Actually after riding it for awhile I convinced myself that I would never own a Electra Glide again without a lowering kit as I feel so much more comfortable with both feet planted firmly on the ground and knees bent.

When I first ordered the Duracell I knew I had to add the lowering kit straight away to keep comfortable... However with the addition of the heated seat, it makes it even more important to have for me.

I choose to stay with the same Harley lowering kit as on my '05:

Profile® Low Touring Shocks

Lower the seat height of your Touring model without compromising the ride. The Profile® Low Touring Shocks have been revalved for a comfortable ride while lowering the seat height by up to 3/4". The kit maintains the air adjustability feature of the stock shocks.

Profile® Low Front End Lowering Kit

A complete kit designed to lower the front end of your Touring bike by approximately one inch. A great accessory to add when installing your Chrome Lower Fork Sliders. This kit includes similar suspension internal cartridge components used to improve the overall ride characteristics found in the Ultra Classic, Classic and Road Glide models. Must be installed only on vehicles equipped with Profile® Low Touring Shocks P/N 54631-02B.

This product is available in multiple variations. Be sure to look for the one that fits the specific model and year of your motorcycle.

Once I get the bike home Monday I'm sure I feel right at home in the saddle.

Just to let you know, my wife has the same lowering kit on her '07 Ultra (purchase in August '06) and is also very comfortable riding it... She is 5' 3" weighs 110 soaking wet, and handles it fine with 4 crossings of the Rockies to date.

I'm very confident that once you put this kit on you'll love your new ride even more... If that is possible?

Take care & ride safe,

Grizzly

Just read your thread Rick.  Great to read you and the new bike are getting along so well.  The height adjusting hardware sound slick and easy.  Congrats on finally getting some more miles on the new ride.
