I don't think you can compare this site to any other site...it's just not fair! It would be like a little league team vs the World champs Red Sox! :nixweiss: Just wouldn't be fair! There is something really special with this site unlike other sites. We are family! The leadership does a fine job keeping this site from becoming like one of these other ones. But for the most part it's the People that make this CVO family! We care!!! We share a common bond and also share everything else. We share our Love, our talents, our sorrows, our knowledge, our humor, our Love, our experiences, our failures, our trips, our relationships, our bikes, our homes, our sweat, our money, did I mention our Love??? We share our tears, our joys, our families, our opinions, and mistakes. But we do all this in Love and Respect. We can agree to disagree and we can tolerate. Just like any family, we are all created uniquely different in appearance and personality but were still family and we still Love each other. I am proud to be a member of this family which goes beyond CVO motorcycles. Gods Sweet Love and Blessings to you all!

                                                             JR :bananarock:

P.S. May I add, it's not the bike that makes the person!!! In HS we ate and rode with some fine people that were on GW and BMW. Enjoyed them thoroughly!!! Great bunch of men! As I said, it's not the bike that makes a person! :2vrolijk_21:

I agree, JR.  Besides, there is no comparison I can think of.  Here, we get it all.  That isn't happening anywhere else...............but it sure is fun to read through the other stuff sometimes and realize just how good we have it here.  Keeps me from taking it for granted.

Howie, in a few hours look down between your legs and see what you're riding.  It'll be the same thing you rode in Hot Springs.  A dresser man, a big beautiful dresser.  You're just in denial.  It's like getting away from the warranty.  You know you want to; it's just soooooo hard to do :huepfenlol2: .

I'm not going to Egypt! :D

I'll ride 'em, but don't plan on owning one. :o

The Wing and the BMW riders have often seemed to be pretty closed groups.  By no means all, but at least many of us really could seem to care less what someone else rides; so long as they ride something.

Think that was one of the things I liked about Traxxion Dynamics when having the front end work done to the red bike.  A LOT of their work is Wing work.  Other stuff too.  But, at least before us, not a huge amount of Harley trade.

The guys there could have cared less though.  Max was an equal opportunity place to spend your money.  Good guys who really only seemed to care about making the bikes better no matter what kind of bikes they are.

Personally, I don't care if someone rides a Vespa scooter; anyone on two wheels is fine by me.  I acknowledge all of them when I'm out riding (some of the youngsters on scooters or mopeds seem a little shocked that an old guy on a dresser actually waved to them :confused5:).

I've found over the years that you don't have to go to a Japanese or European brand to find snobs.  I've run into plenty sitting on Harley's, either the old timers who started out on Pans and never threw a leg over any other brand, or the younger folks trying to play outlaw and impress their friends on the weekends.  Life's too short to pay any attention to any of them.  It's all about freedom and getting in the wind, the rest is just BS.

You hear it all the time..."I could have bought a Harley!!!!"  Very seldom do you hear..."I could have bought a Wing!!!!"

Speaks for itself!!!  That forum also says it all, with all the bashing....

I'm fairly still new to this site, and can't say enough about all the good advise and quick turn around time in getting questions answered on this site.

I love my new ride  :bananarock: :bananarock: and now I feel that I belong to a family of CVO rider that care about their bike as much as I do.......

I hope someday to acquire the knowledge to pass it along to others on this site and in person......

So far so good...... :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Did I mention that I Love my bike and the add on are a direct reflection of suggestion from this site.........

Thanks for everyone input...... :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

I came from the Metric world and find the differences very interesting. You often hear the 'snobery' of the HD riders. God forbid a Harley rider doesn't wave to a metric rider, all hell brakes loose. Or when a metric can out run a Harley off the line. I kinda expected that on the HD forums, but in reverse. There's a little of it, but not to the extent on the metric boards. While I know this is an over generalization, the forums are filled with people trying to make their bikes sound like a Harley or look like a Harley. That GL forum was a hoot. Thanks for turning me onto it, it's great entertainment.

In here we have a few former BMW riders riding Harleys. Some (like me) still have a sizable stable of BMWs. For Russia BMW and Harleys serve different purpose. With the roads around GS is a good option to travel the country. Whereas HD SEUC is my preferred choice for Europe etc.

In the HD club here we have a few GW guys as well.

Probably due to smaller community all the relations are fairly nice and friendly.

The problems start though with the guys on sports...

I'd like to see some of their forums bashing us as well.  What's funny about the HD v GW forum is that it reminds me so much of riding the school bus home from elementary school......

That about sums it up!  I was amazed at just how strongly they are anti-Harley.  If GWs have more HP then so what, if GWs have more torque (which I doubt) then so what?  Nothing is really wrong with a GW, I just can't see myself owning one.

If I could not own a HD I would probably get a BMW touring bike.  They don't have all the features of the GW but at least they still seem like a bike, at least the air heads do.  Their power assist brakes would take me a while to get used to however.

Having been the owner of a BMW touring rig (K100LT), and a GW Aspencade, I can say that both of those motorcycles were great bikes.  Technically sound and ran great...but there's one thing missing on those bikes, that I've always felt when I ride an HD; a soul.  There just isn't the same feeling riding those as there is riding a Harley.  I know that my SEUC isn't the most technilogically advanced motorcycle on the road, nor the fastest, or probably the most reliable, but it has a soul, a presence to it that makes it the most enjoyable ride out there for me.   I'll wave at anyone on two wheels, regardless of what they ride...we're all in this for the same reason, to enjoy the freedom that riding a motorcycle gives us.

Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,

Saturday morning on a ride I stopped at a light behind a Honda Valkyrie. We pulled out and I dropped back a ways not liking to follow too close and on down the road a Goldwing was coming from the other direction. The Valkyrie and the Goldwing exchanged waves and as he approached, I waved at the Goldwing. The guy on the Goldwing looked over and started to raise his hand but saw that I was on a Harley and visibly yanked his back down to the grip. I laughed. These people are so sour to Harleys that it's rediculous. I'm like the rest of you, I'll wave at any motorcycle - it's doesn't matter. These folks are missing it, and they must be miserable!

I'll bet the Valkyrie rider is posting on another forum about how he blew you off the line and was pulling away.....

I get that a lot, I wave to everybody too regardless of what they ride. However, riding a V-Rod I tend to get that from both Harley and metric riders. It's like the, "It's not a Harley" comment. Doesn't bother me, I'm just happy to be out there.
