I'd be suspicious too. I was wondering where he came up with an idea like that.

Custom paint and it will be one of a kind not one of 2,000 or so.

You know my answer..................... ;D

IMOP, try to maintain the SE design.
How I achieve this, the 06 had two insignia's, the straight tapered line (rainbow arch line????) and the jagged line. I used all jagged lines, which maintained the SE looks.

BUT also, one of a kind custom style..........sure looks SWEET!!!!!!!!!

I just looked at the PIC'S OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you walked away!!!!!!!!!!

I'm changing my vote...........

the 07 are SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my opinion
1. CANDY RED ALL THE WAY
2. CANDY RED the inside fairing
3. I'd keep the the insignia's, style the same, but ghost them. From distance, they blend in, lookin Red, the closer you get to the bike, the more prominent they become.

Again, Glad you walked away.

Then the real question is in seven or eight years, how much more is a CVO in stock paint worth compared to a CVO with custom paint? Especially the paint design of the 2007s which we all know isn't anything really to get excited about.

:indian_chief:

Chief, I hope all is well.  As far as value over time, the legacy of the 2007 110" motors will hurt the long term value IMHO.  I'd paint it if I had the same opportunity.  It's funny that buying a limited edition CVO, you actually have the most duplicated bike as far as combinations of mods, custom paint, wheels, pegs, grips etc.  When you see two or three of the exact same custom it sort of loses the custom.  Take a stock bike, do a paint job and its a custom that stands out.  I also don't mean a HD version of a custom paint job with 500 copies but a one off designed by you.  I have done this in the past and it is a great feeling to see your unique design attract attention.

While browsing the web I clicked a link to this site.  Would have never thought it existed but after a couple of hours of sifting thru I signed up.  Very cool.

After reading this let me say I'm happy that you were fortunate enough to walk away without injuries to yourself.

As far as my opinion on the paint.  Well, If you "loved" the original paint go back to it.  If you had to "live" with the original paint.  Paint it.  Will it lose value?  Hard to say.  How much did it already lose value by being a bike that has gone down and needed repair.  If I was looking for a Stocker I would probably pass and find one that was never damaged.

I recently had to make the same decision.  While on the freeway I had a car run me into the center divider and the bike slid, slid, slid, then hi sided.  Almost all of the damage was cosmetic.  I'm still recovering but made the decision last week to go with custom paint and accesories.  I've customized all my bikes and dont feel any different about this one.

Chief, how did the news go over with the war department?

It turned out that due to her messed up travel plans, she didn't see it until she got to Copperhead Lodge about 7pm, but considering the lack of preparing her for it, it actually went over quite well, once we got past the hyperventilating stage. Of course her first concern was that I was allright and then after that she saw that the bike is functional. Of course I've cleaned it up a good deal since the off-road excursion. I then showed her this thread, with the pictures taken on the side of the road..... and the hyperventilation came back. It really helped that we rode a good bit this weekend, and she has shaken the willies she got.

Her reaction to everything that was thrown at her this weekend was a real test for her and her reaction to it all is just one of the many reasons why I love her so much. Although, when we got home we did have a little talk about proper riding ettiquette. We now have a few more rules that need to be followed in the future.

I am a very lucky person to have found someone as wonderful as her.
