the parts look great now, but hard to visualize how it will "flow" once together

You ain't kidding about that. I've spent some pretty restless days wondering "How will it all come together?" It's pretty easy to get one stripe to flow front to back, but when the design became more complicated, I started asking the same questions.

The frame won't be back from Sumax for 3 weeks or so, so it will be another month before I will find out for sure.

Looks good. I was confused until I got down to the last photo and saw you were still staying w/the red. Looks like it'll be well worth the wait.

It does make you think about what that would look like on a '03 SERK. It's amazing how a paint job is done if you aren't able to see it in the steps that you have documented it's hard to believe all the different colors to get to the completed job.

I'm going to match it to the paint. Sumax said they can play with the gold base to get real close. The chip I've seen, over a silver base, is pretty darn close, but they should be able to get even closer when I get them the test panel. Of course, the back and forth with color choosing will only slow down the process even more.

The major drawback I see to doing this is that it will be a lot tougher to get away with a dirty frame than if it were black. But, cleaning up Harley's welds and cleaning up the splatter everywhere will go a long way in improving the look of the frame, regardless of color.

It's going to be absolutely awesome when the candy coat is done!!    Thanks for posting the update pics.

I must say, I am a bit envious....I just would not want to go through an accident to get the paint job.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

While everything did work out in my favor, I wouldn't reccomend this process to anyone. 

I'm about to run over to the booth to see how it's coming along.

I can't wait to see it either.  The candy and the clear coat will add a lot of depth and I'm glad it will be mostly red.  After all, that was your first choice in CVO color to begin with!
