i guessing the pics dont really do it any justice, cant wait to it it in person

Very true. Taking them in direct sunlight is very harsh and the camera has a hard time picking what it needs to focus on. From some angles it's rich red and from some angles you can see the gold coming through looking orangeish. That candy is weird stuff.

Looks good. :2vrolijk_21: I can see what you mean about the gold showing through on these two pics (especially around the headlight)..

Can't wait to see it in person.

You can really see it in that one pic, but I think the camera's CCD is saturated with the bright reflections and contrasts with the bricks etc because I don't think the difference is that great IRL. It's definitely different. but that picture seems to over emphasize it.

Since my CVO has been cosmetically altered it won't be recognized as one, just a pretty Ultra. It's a sleeper now.  :huepfenlol2:

looking good Chuck.. :2vrolijk_21:

Should I say it...Yea--why not...What's a little ribbing amongst friends. Are you going to be able to take the riders course BEFORE you ride her again?

Well, yes and no. AJ and I are doing the MSF ERC next month, so no chance to ride before then. I'm taking the other course in NC on my bike in June.

I've done the ERC twice before and do it every couple of years just as a mental refresher. The other course is a performance riding class and will be the one where I can pick up and work on some new skills to help me get through the twisties quicker with fewer sparks.  :2vrolijk_21:

Here's a shot taken indoors out of the harsh sun. It's a better picture, but still doesn't convey the brilliance of the candy you get in person.

That's awesome no other way to put it. I probably missed it  - was this your sole design or a collaboration?

Hey, Chuck, that looks awesome!  I like the fact that the top of the fairing is clean and the design is on the sides.  Sometimes painters try too hard to do something on that nice flat surface there and it doesn't always come off looking real good (clashes with the lines of the bike), IMHO.  This guy obviously has some self-control and a good eye to do the creative stuff where it looks the best. :2vrolijk_21:

Not my design. I'm nowhere near that talented. Pinkie and I went through all of the back issues we could find and marked stuff we liked and stuff we didn't. We gave all of those to the painter so he could get a feel for what we were looking for. He came up with the sketches and we didn't change a thing.

The painter that did this is in his early twenties and has only been painting professionally for a year or two. He started out with rattle cans on the sides of buildings. It's talent, regardless of where you practice.  :2vrolijk_21:

We talked about that a good bit and we both agreed to not get sucked in trying to use the top. You are right, it is used too often.  ;)

Reaaly great job!!  :2vrolijk_21: I wonder if there should be a thread started recognizing talented painters nationwide, providing contact info for our members? The good ones are hard to come by!!  :confused5:
