A shot of the left side.  I don't really need the left side since I put the D&D Fat Cats on. :pepper:

I went with the rjsoriginals also.  Before I purchased them, I took the Kuryakyn shield off my Road Glide and put on the 110.  It was too much heat for the Kuryakyn shields.  The rjsoriginals cost twice as much but IMHO offer twice as much protection.  Plus they look like an extension of the saddle.  Check out the photo.  You would think that a $35000 bike would have this type of protection.

Those look good!  I finally got around to taking the melted left shield off my bike last week.  Turns out the front of the shield had cracked, allowing it to drop too close to the pipe.

I left the shield on the right side, thats the hot side anyway.  Plus ordered some of the nightrider o2 gizmos to try and reduce the heat.

Heat is the only big issue with my 06. Has anyone put on one of he fans like the police bikes use. I have thought about filling the trunk with ice and water cooling my Big(la)R(d) as*! Hog Fest Knoxville about cooked me. The wiring and LEDs adhesive melted.  :-\

Wish I had know that you wanted a set of nightrider 02 inserter.  I have a new set that I would have sold you for $50.  I installed a HD Racetuner and don't need them.  Milford

And I was just in Houston this weekend visiting the in-laws, could have picked them up!  Oh well.  Hope you got in a ride yesterday or today. Sure was beautiful!  I may call in sick tomorrow (cough cough).

As a matter of facts, I did take the Road  Glide out for a Sunday afternoon spend.  It's been a while since I had ridden it and needed to get the oil hot and a little charge to the battery.  Really, I just had a need for speed and the FLTRSEI was the ticket.  Today I plan to put about 100 miles on the CUSE3 before riding it to Goe's HD for the 5000 service.  Hope you got some riding in Monday, since you were under the weather and could not make it to work.  The weather was very nice here.

That seems very pricey for heat deflectors, unless you're looking for ones with "bling".  HD's version, part number 58022-07A, goes for $64.95 (I got them for $52.00 at Chicago Harley), and they look great and work great.  Have not noticed any increase in operating temp, but definitely a lot less heat on the legs.

Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,

Was wondering if anyone on the forum has added the Kuryakyn Saddle Heat shields.  I bought some and have had some issues with the side covers holding the bottom mount.  They look cool, and supposedly deflect the heat from your thighs, but won't know unless I can figure out how to install better.  Appreciate any input.

I'm going to send my Exhaust up to H.P.C. in OKC and have them coated inside and out for $140. Supposed to reduce heat 1/2 .. We'll See.....Greg

Doesn't appear that other have had the same problem with the Kuryakyn heat shields as I did.  The one's I bought, from my local harley dealer, didn't fit without major modifications.  I had to grind off about 1/2" from each side and re-drill a new hole so the bolt that holds the tank on would support the top aprt of the shield.  Sounds like I might have gotten an older model or missed out on a newer fitment for the '08.  I suspected it was the larger 5 gal tank and mounting that had not been updated by Kyrakyn yet.

The ones I isntalled wer model 1118 or K1118.  What model number fit for those that installed flawlessly?  Probably won't change them cause I modified them to fit great and they do look sweet.

Glad to hear everyone else's install was simple, mine was not.

Did the install on the Kury heat shields require removal of the wire wells to install top mount screws?  Mine slide in above the frame, under the wells and appear to fit fairly snug without screws on top.  Anyone running without mount screws?  Always looking for the easy way out!
