BigLew,

I forgot to mention that after taking a 3,000 mile beating with the short shield I ordered a 17" recurve from Clearview. Excellent windshield, much less buffeting. But, I think the fairing will be on for all long trips.

I'm not sure if anyone is reading these or not. Or maybe I'm crazy. The air that is beating me up is not comming from over the windscreen. It is comming from underneath and around it. At 65mph I can set the cruise and place my hands about where the gas cap and fuel led caps are and that is the area where the wind is bouncing off the tank and comming straight up to my face. It tries to knock your glasses off. I have 3 different length windscreens and ther is almost no difference in the 2 larger ones.

i installed the fork baffle. it helps a little. I f you are trying to keep all the wind from the up draft off your face then you will ned the front fork wind deflectoers. They are not the best looking but they work great. Billy

jgeorge it's not the height. It's comming around an under the widscreen. Miker looks good How hard to get off and on? Give a ball park on the money you have in the faring and goodies. 8)

It pops on and off like the windsheild, it uses the same mounts and gromments.  You disconnect one plug (and loose your fm presets) and its off.  It comes with a the stereo and polk audio speakers and is good to around 80-90 mph or so.

I think the fairing with stereo (you can order one without) in black gel coat was 1800 another 5 or so to leaf, stripe and paint.  Check deadcentercycles.com.  There is also dragonflyfairings (nice looking) and hoppe industries. Good luck with what you choose and post some damn pictures!

Thanks.

I have added fairy wings to it too. Not vented, 20$, vented $120.  I had a blacked out 4" wind sceen on there too.. Looked bitchin but could not keep a cigar going and was basically useless.  The windscreens are easy to change.

thanks guys I will try some of this stuff and see if it works. I will see if I can take some pics if I can figure out how to post them. Right now we are trying to figure out how to get the low rpm stumble out with the slipons and the power commander. What a load of junk!

Lew, the FatCats are the Cat's pajamas! Great pipes. I use the Performance Muffler on mine. But I recommend their Quiet Muffler unless you're doing major engine mods. But I definitely recommend them for both performance and sound. Can't speak highly enough about the quality either. :2vrolijk_21:

Cool, I put the rush slip ons when I first got the bike and I am ready for a change. Like the sound ok maybe alouder would work. Is there anywhere I could go to hear them. Where is the best place to buy. Some guy at the local shop had a set of the dual bassani (sp) and they sounded pretty good.

I like the look and sound of the fatcats too Lew, but I was already in 900 beans to the rinehart 2-1.  It perfroms well and is loud when romped on.  Such is life   :-\

lilbear (Craig) has the 2-1 Rinehart on his 08 SERK.
I was impressed with the sound.
Fit and finish looked great!
He also has one on the Vrod so he must be impressed!
