I just received a box of "Hemingway" cigars. On the box it has a label that says "Signature Reserva / Especial". This was a gift and I know absolutely nothing of cigars. The cigars also came with a humidor that has a hygrometer and a thing to put distilled water in. (pictured below)
Since I know there are several cigar aficionados here, I need a little help. At what level should the hygrometer be kept on and do I just pour the distilled water in the other little round thingamabob? Also, are these good cigars?
Thanks for any information you could provide.
You will need to send them to me right away!

Those are very nice smokes.
Use distilled water in the thingy...There are better thingies available, look for a clear tube with cyrstals in it ..they just work better than the round thingy.
Wipe the inside of the humidor with more distilled water, not soaking but wetted.
You can calibrate the hygrometer by wetting some salt until damp (not dissolving it), place it and the hygrometer in a ziplock type bag...it should read ~ %70 RH, if not adjust it with the little screw.
Put the wetted thingy into the wetted humidor and let it stand overnight. The smokes are fine in the box they came in for now, just don't heat them.
Observe the humidity in the humidor and if between 65-75, you can put the sticks in, leave them in the cello wrappers though. The less they are pawed the better.
Enjoy!
