Methinks thou art often correct (and accompanying ).

The trouble here is that all too often so is the Motor Company.  And you didn't find me suggesting ambushing the motor company.  If for no other reason than it would be counterproductive.  When push comes to shove I'm all about tactical efficiency in line with strategic goals.  What I said was that the Motor Company's own evasive and often untruthful tactics force owners to actions and responses that adult respectful commerce shouldn't really require.  They do bring a lot of this on themselves.

I am being told there will be a Motor Company presence at M/V 08.
When I started down this path I figured I might as well go for the gusto, I asked for someone from the CVO division.
No need to talk with a Buell Blast assembly guy, go for the best.

But look at the big picture.
Where can a manufacturer go to get feedback on their product than to a group that owns 200 to 300 of your finest machines.
A one on one meeting with a group that owns 9+ million dollars worth of  Custom Vehicle Operation machines.
Talking about reaching and talking with a target audience. Seems like a smart place for the Mo Co to be.
We shall see is all I can say!

As far as "Ambush", I really think the members of this site are smarter than that.
And so is the Mo-Co.

It'd be interesting to know who you talked to.  I tried to do the same thing for MV06 and was told they were definitely interested in coming, blah, blah, blah and then the closer we got the event, all communcation ceased.   Hopefully, things will be different this time.

I carry the weight of my statements all on my own. I have discussed this issue extensionally with Gary because I can talk with him on the phone.
As you told me in organizing previous CVO events, no matter what you do someone will not like it or have an issue with it. Since I began here on this site I have heard that "it sure would be nice of the Motor Company to acknowledge us". That was and is my only goal, to get the Motor Company to a function. If I can help that to happen and it turns out good then I will have achieved my goal.
Nothing more, nothing less. Respect for the moderators, Naitram and this great site is why my wife and I are working to help put together this rally.

Don't worry about any of that. Bottom line we are going to ride, have fun, be with old friends, meet new friends, eat, drink and be merry. You and Nancy's efforts in getting this event organized will be appreciated more then you'll ever know.
