Well, we had an 03 Heritage, and my wife wanted more comfort, storage, intercom, etc.
I was a Road Captain for our HOG chapter, and I needed a CB, so we decided to get an Ultra.
I told her we would wait to the release of the 06 models, so we could see what's new' and she agreed. Well when they announced that they had added the SEUC, I called her and said I NEED one.
Her response was "GO FOR IT", and I was on the phone at 9am to my dealer, Bob's HD, in Fond du Lac, WI. Tony the sales manager was on vacation (bummer), but they gave me his cell phone number, so needless to say,"hello Tony", 2 seconds later. I told him I wanted one, and what was it going to take to get it. I picked the color, from the web pictures, gave it to him, and he said he would
see what he could do, and he would call me in a little bit. Well he called back in an hour, said I was third in line, and it was a go. I asked what it was going to cost, and as usual, his response  was "list". We worked out, no set up, no frt, and all options and labor would be 20% off! Well, the bike came in
the end of January 06, and the rest is history. I wanted to get an 08, but after hearing all the problems with the 110, I passed till? I'm hoping (sorry guys), for a water/oil cooled one by 2010.

I walked in and saw the FLHTCSE2, Electra Glide and just bought it ;D. The dealer had just moved It onto the show room floor one hour before I walked in. It was sold, but the guy didn't come up with the money, so they put it on the floor to sell, Just lucky I guess. I love that Bike. I rode to Sturgis in 06 (3,500 Miles round trip) It was great. I just bought a 08 FLHTCSE3, 8)  ::) I take delivery in March in Oregon (800 miles round trip) I live in Seattle. I'm keeping the 05 SE and selling my 2000 Dyna Wide Glide :nixweiss: So now you know the rest of the story "LOL"

We had ridden Ultra's for several years and only had our '06 for a year when while on a trip we just happened into a HD store and lo and behold sitting on the showroom floor was a new Lt. Candy Cherry/Black Ice Ultra CVO, the most beautiful bike we had ever seen.  My wife (and I) wanted it immediately.  But, we were miles and miles away from home, did not have our Ultra with us and we decided that one just was not in the cards, right then at least.  As time went on both of us kept having visions of that red/blk CVO.  Well a few months later we found another one at a dealership in another state and bought it immediately over the phone and made arrangements to pick it up that weekend.  Before we left home to get it I had our '06 Ultra sold just by word of mouth.  Guess it was just meant to happen.  We still have our '03 Anniversary Heritage but this '07 redcvo has captured our hearts forever I do believe.

OK riders :o, I haven't heard any bad thing's about the motor on the 2008 FLHTCSE3, so what's wrong :nixweiss:. I haven't been looking around very long for information about problems with the new FLHTCSE3. Just want to know, if anyone has heard any rumors going around please let me know, if you have any info.

OH man I just went to the twin motor section, (11Pm) Mt Time. Ouch!! I just put down big money on a 2008 FLHTCSE3 105th Anniversary Ultra. The dealer says he won't give back the deposit no matter what >:(. I don't think I want to take a chance after what I have read :-[. NOW WHAT.

These dealers are something  :soapbox: and what about HD :nixweiss:, what's with them continuing to put out new 2008 Bikes with the same problems :confused5:. Man do you know what these SE's Cost :o. I own two Harley's ;D, one a 2000 Dyna Wide Glide  ;D and the other a 2005 FLHTCSE2 103 cu/in Red ;D. I have had some trouble, but It's all been taken care of on warranty at one time or the other. However one does not want to live at the dealers while his new 2008 bike is being repaired constantly by default :o. What's a guy to do  :drink: :drink: :drink:

I wanted to ride this new 08 Bike to Sturgis in Aug (there & back 3000 miles last time I rode in 06) after what I have read, I don't think the 08 would make it there and back without repair. Sorry just blowing off steam, I'm so spit, I could mad on the floor. is that the way it goes, "LOL" oh well till next time. Darn those dealers anyway and don't forget Harley-Davidson with there HEAD in the sand over this issue. Ride safe if it runs.

Greetings...My first CVO was a EBay purchase from a Smoky Mountain Tennessee Fireman named Bill. Won the bid, flew from California to see it myself firsthand. WOW, the 2005 FLSTFSE Slate Gray with the Metal Grind...Oh my, what a bike. The fireman Bill had won the bike on a radio contest by the local HD dealer. Only 94 miles on it. Made friends with the "first owner" had a few beers, met with some locals and played some pool. It was too cold and still snowing in the Sierras so I had it trucked back. God knows I love that bike.

My second CVO was a planned purchase. Saw the Black Diamond Silver Mist with Ghost flames in a picture of the 2008 FLHRSE4 SERK and I was willing to wait. And I did. Layed out a deposit with no risk back in October 2007, and took delivery just about 11 days ago (late January, 2008),. Even with the concerns about the 110", and with some negative press from our own forum I wanted this Road King. So I waited 3 plus months, It's here now, and I love this ride as much as  my first CVO.

The SE FatBoy is in the shop for repairs to the top end hopefully. The SE RoadKing is in my garage right now. I am one lucky CVO owner (of 2) and proud to be part of this site.

Take a deep breath and relax bling. Celebrate the fact that you've got FLHTCSE3 on the way. What a catch! Take comfort in knowing that the vast majority of the '08 110's are alive, well and their owners are racking up thousands of miles with a big smile on their faces. Yeah, there have been issues with some bikes. Like any bad news today, the bad news occupies the majority of the print media and the good news isn't being reported. I personally know 3 owners who have '08 110's and haven't experienced a single problem. See you in Sturgis!

You're better off with facts than rumors.  BobD's got it right.  Some owners have had problems and let us know.  Most didn't.  Get the bike and enjoy the ride to Sturgis.

I've had three CVO bikes, the 04 Electra Glide, an 05 red Fatboy and now an red 07 Road King. Just walked in the dealers in the area and they either had one in or called me when they got one in. All three came from different dealers. Greensboro HD over charged me 2000 for the 04 EG they called it premium pricing for a hard to get bike. So I won't be buying another one from them, unless they give me a 2000 discount. The Fatboy was a fun bike, but no storage for coats etc..But when I was ready to sell it I when back to the dealer I bought it from ( Cox's ) and set it on their floor for sale with the agreement if the other bike came in first they would give me the price WE agreed on before hand. Which was 22000. Well the new bikes started coming in and that's the year the 96ic and 6 speed trans came out. Well now the most they said ( Joy the sale manager at the time ) they could give me was 14500..since I was a good customer. :confused5: Well needless to say I told her I would be there the very next day be pickup my Fatboy...took it straight to Davis's and it sold in two weeks for 22500. But Davis could not get me the bike I wanted . I ended up buying it from Crossroads HD, great people and great price 1000 less than everyone else wanted . I'll be keeping the Road King but it's about time for a new bike ( the Fatbob looks like a fun bike ) can you guess which dealer it will be.

Wow, keep the great stories coming!

Here is mine. Late in 2004 I recently had moved to a little town called Brunswick in Ohio. I happened to be driving by Century Harley Davidson in Medina, OH. I stopped in just to look around and check out the dealership. I baught a belt and a belt buckle.

When I got home I explained to my girlfriend ( at the time, now my wife ) about this great dealership and how they have some cool events going on. We got to talking about bikes. I had never owned a Harley that actually ran. I had owned a full custom build that I was building myself some years ago ( 90 percent complete, shovel) and along the way encountered that divorce thingy........the bike in the living room that would be there after the lady left ( many a fight about motorcycles in the living room ) finally did have to leave......she left first so I was right about that part.

I had owned several motorcycles but it had been a few years. My girlfriend shared some stories with me about a Honda 750 she owned back in the day.

The following day we are out and about and happen to be driving by the same dealership. I ask her if she minds stopping in to take a peek. She says sure, I want a Harley T shirt.

So, there we are scanning the showroom and there is this black early release 05 Heritage sitting there standing out from the crowd because the marker lights and tailights are blacked out and it had replacement floorboards etc. It was Skull themed. I tell her that if I were to buy a Harley it would be similar to this. She says she likes it too other than the skull thing. I tell her I can take or leave the skulls but it looks much better than the black totally stock one next to it and point out the differences. It had the Ergo Gaurd and a host of other doo dads.

Well, she tells me she is going to look at t-shirts etc. Me, I continue to drool over this bike. I notice it has pipes on it too and wonder what it sounds like (says Caliber on the end caps, never heard of them). I guess I said so out loud. A salesman walks over to me and says "You want to hear it?" I of course say "Sure." He has the key in hand , fires it up. Well, my girlfriend looks up from the clothing department and sees me sitting on this thwap thwap thwap of a motorcycle.

She walks over and says how much is it? My response is too much but maybe someday. She says "No, TODAY!" she baught it for me on the spot. I did protest for the rest of the day, for some reason I could not have it until the following day. After a long night of discussion it is determined that if she always wanted a Harley too and even if things don't work out between us the memories will be hers forever and the bike will be mine no worries.

After about 2 months of riding on the back she says she wants her own bike. I took the MSF course with her so it would be fun for both of us. We go to the same dealer and buy her first bike in a long time. A 2005 1200 custom sporty.

About 3 months later she figures that she is dropping her sporty too much because it is too top heavy, she is 5 foot tall and 115 lbs soaking wet. She falls in love with this 03 Dyna Glide. We make the trade.

Now, about 2 months later we are at a little local bike rally and our friends from the dealership have a display set up. In front of it is a bike that just came in today and assembled just before the little swap meet deal so they braought it with them. It's the silver SE Fatboy.

Prior to that the only CVO I had seen was a Nanna. This was the day before the little rally.....at the time I had no idea what I was looking at. There was alot of hub bub about that yellow thing in the dealers lot. Crowds around it etc. I honestly was not impressed, the yellow just screamed at me no F'N way. No offense to you nanna lovers, I had no idea at that time what I was looking at.

I had just returned to Ohio from a trip to Mass. I-90 through New York left me looking for something..........more power. I came back and made a list of mods from the fatbook..............total I came up with including the cost of the bike I had sitting there was right at 30,000........not including a few doo dads I would like to add later.

So back to the rally the following day. There she is the Silver Fatboy. I sit on it , take a few pictures of it. My wife says the following day after the rally...let's go to the shop. I never say no to visiting "The Shop" as it seems in the almost year since I got my new Heritage we have come out with new jackets, chaps, helmets, etc etc and sometimes even the occasional motorcycle. She tells me she wants to see if they still have this jacket for her that she wanted.

They had the jacket. I went outside to smoke a cigarette and glare at everyone elses bike in the lot. I am outside maybe a half hour. I decide to go find my girl. I go in and she is sitting there with a salesman in one of the little offices. She does not look happy at all. I know the people at the dealership pretty well so I just walk in and ask the salesguy what is going on. My girl says they won't give us enoug for trade on the Heritage.

continued:

I tell her that's ok, I can modify it the way I want and we will just keep it. She says no, I have a better Idea, Take the Heritage back to the Garage and bring back my bike. We had rode in two up on the Heritage. I tell her no way is she giving up her bike. She says no that's not what I have in mind.

"We'll sell the Heritage on our own, go get my bike please?".........I don't think I have rode so fast since. I come back and she hands me the paperwork " Your making the payments on this one, I got them to give it to me for MSRP and throw in a race tuner and a set of pipes like the one you got for free because apparently the tuner marries itself to the first bike it's on and they can't swap it out and they don't have any stock pipes to swap with your Heritage pipes so you can keep your pipes I know you won't be happy without!" Who am I to argue with that? (this is the story of why both bikes ended up having the same exact pipe set up. I must say Century took good care of us on this 4th bike deal in less than a year. Of course two days later, I found out why when the 06 hit the showroom.)

We finally sold the Heritage almost a year later. She rode on the Fatboy a total of three times, her impression is...... " I hate that F'N fatboy, you should have kept the Heritage! The Fatboy rides like chit! Not nearly as comfortable on the back and no it's not the seat (we had baught the sissy bar with quick detach and a mustang pillow seat.)

In the meantime, she is now on a Yamaha V-star 1100 as she says it fits her better than the Harleys ever did, but she does miss the fun of owning a H-D and always the comment  " We should have kept that Heritage, we should have kept it...you looked good on it too". She also really loved the road sofa (GL1800 we had for a short time).

One day last year after the Honda fiasco ( another story, has to do with cracking frames etc. ) We are at another dealer in Charlotte NC.......BTW I never have recieved the kind of attention I was used to from the Ohio dealerships........must be the fact I baught 4 Harleys from the Ohio Dealer ( ya think? ) She spies a White Geezer Glide. After having the GoldWing for a time, I decide I miss the heated seat grips stereo etc. She misses the comfort on the back. I decide I would be willing to trade even steven for a stock Ultra. The dealer goes out to put a price on my trade...... 19k..........I would be upside down 6k for a mostly stock new Ultra......the wife has vowed we will never own another F'N Harley.........32k depreciates down to 19k with 4k on the odometer......we leave, both pissed off.

I have not even been to a H-D dealer since. Been looking hard at the new Kawasaki Concourse 1400 (GTR1400 in Europe). I have rode my fatboy plenty but not with the love I once had and I currently have broke it down, pulled the motor and am trying to make us both happy by reverting it back to that Black Heritage we had before ( powder coating the frame black, sending out tins for paint, passing lamps, bags etc etc.) SO the expensive lesson learned, not counting the peeling chrome, the fact the bike has not tracked str8 since the frame replacement etc. She is right, I should have just kept the Heritage.

I wouldn't mind owning the Mountain Dew SEUC...........have a feeling that is a day way , way into the furure. Have to make my wife love Harleys again. This is getting increasingly more difficult as she loves her Yamaha more every single day. In terms of practicality she has learned too much about bikes. Keeps showing me things like the Suzuki m-109 and saying things like look here, under 15k big fat tire and bigger engine, probably won't break either, you think Suzuki would warranty the chrome if you got it wet once or twice? etc. You would look good on that Yamaha Roadliner.....1700 ccs , that's bigger than your fatboy is isn't it? And look its half the price, what does your bike have that this one don't other than the Harley Emblem on the side and twice the cost?

There's my story.
It's rough around here.............lol.I created a monster.

After 4 new harleys starting in 1984 i decieded that it was time for a bagger of some sort. I was on the harley zone site and JC invited me over to this great site. It didnt take long after reading about them that i knew that this was my next bike. I called around and redwood harley in n calif said they had a banana coming and at msrp it sounded good so i put a deposit down in dec 04. I had never seen the yellow in person only the first pics on this site. Having only owned black bikes this was going to different to say the least. Now the waiting begins and i read all i can about the cvo bikes.
Well in the spring of 05 while waiting i notice a lump in my throat and head off to the doc for testing etc.  At the first of june the doc calls and says i have thyroid cancer that has spread to all my neck nodes and and i need surgery asap. Yep they call the next day and say your bike is here! I tell them im not going to buy the bike now and go ahead and sell it. After the operation and some thinking about a lot of things i decided  im going to go ahead and buy a bagger.  I call and they still have the yellow bike. I fly up to nor cal and get my first look. Man that bike is YELLOW!!
I can say that the bike has been wonderful with no oil, paint, chrome or any other problems. at 30k miles now it looks great and runs beautiful. Ive met some of the nicest people from the site and some will become lifelong friends.
My health is good and i look forward to meeting you all

Had 30k on my 2004 Road King Classic purchased at the end of 2003. I was always thinking about more engine. I can't tell you how many times I looked into a big bore kit.

Saw the changes to the touring line for 2008 and thought it was about time to make a trade. I loved the SERK but didn't think I could rationalize the cost, and thought I'd want a 105th RKC. My wife and I were at the dealership early July 07 and started idly talking to one of the salesmen (happened to be the dealership manager) about the fact that I was starting to think about the trade. We sit down to look at the website for colors as none of the bikes were shipping yet. My wife didn't like the style of the 105th bikes, but really liked the Annie SERK. I mention to her that it is the spiffy Screaming Eagle bike that adds about 10k to the price of what I was looking at. She was ok with that! Soooo, let the manager look into what they had coming. Lo and behold the first SERK they were expecting was the Annie and nobody had as yet spoken for it. Took all of the time to ask my wife whether she was sure she was ok with the expense to put a deposit down.

Took forever and a day for the bike to show up and it was worth every moment of the wait.
