I put a Kuryakin hitch on my SERG. It's not a reciever like 2Lns, but I think it was only about $150.00. I think the Bushtec hitches were quite a bit higher.

No hitch at all, just bear pooping in the woods.

Reb, after the first failure and followed by a more thorough reading of the bike schematics than I'd ever done before I spoke with a very forthright rep at Bushtec....

Don,

Thanks once again for the info.
The only problem that I might have wiring with fuses only would be the load that the trailer would put on the bike.  My trailer doesn't have LED's (yet anyway).  And you are right about making room for the whole mess.  And, Yes it would be great if they could integrate the isolator into the pigtail plug.
If (or when) it fails, I may be calling on you for a few details.

Thanks,
LRebel

No problem.  A few LED bulbs for the trailer were cheap and meant, basically, no appreciable load while in normal operation.  The independently fused legs with very low load fuses will mean that abnormal operation should be protected against.  And it's a much much smaller rat's nest.

Getting alot of helpful info here, thanks everyone. I have a small fiberglass trailer now that I towed one trip (100 miles one way) behind my 05 FXSTI with no problems. It carried camping stuff. I would like to get a pop-up camper though. Been looking at Leesure-lites. The bike is in the shop right now getting new Rinehart pipes and a race tuner. The dealer is going to run it on his dyno real easy because of 0 miles just to get a close reading. It gets to come back after break-in for a real tune. At that time I have to pick out a better air cleaner for it. I do like the hidden hitch idea and I have two or three monthes yet before camping. thanks again for the help everyone.

Popper,
You might start watching eBay for a tent trailer.  I bought a Time-Out tent trailer last fall off eBay.  It was pretty much like new and I got it for about 40% of what a new one would have cost.
If you like the Leesure-Lite trailers, you might also look at the Roll-a-Home.  I like the Time-Out because it has more room inside that any other I have seen and it is all up off the ground when it is set up.

Just asking here. I am thinking of towing a trailer behind my 08 Anni and was wondering if anybody out there does. I haven't found a hitch that fits the CVOs yet either. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks

In the past a service manager from a local dealer told me that our CVO's lose the warranty if a trailer hitch is installed...........so we aware of this especially your bike is brand new...

Jorge, some of the dealerships will try to avoid warranty claim if a rider farts in the seat.  Having said that; there is specific language in the warranty contract against pulling a trailer.  So it is something that should be discussed with your purchasing dealership if you're in a position for warranty to be a concern.

Have read of at least two instances (one warranty and one service contract) where a helpful dealer removed a hitch before company warranty reps came to approve a claim.  That legitimate warranty claims have to so regularly be "approved" is separate question of course.  But the installation of a hitch certainly does warrant the discussion at your home shop if the warranty is still a consideration for you.

In my previous occupation I was a class A line tech and spent some time as service manager for some of the largest Chrysler dealers in New Jersey.

The issue mentioned above was almost always the result of the dealerships handling of warranty claims, eg they were doing things they were not supposed to be doing, and I'm not talking about doing the right thing for customers. Some of it was downright criminal.

With all we see the dealerships doing to us (collectively) it's no great surprise that it works both ways.  If they'd not be watched cooking the books on warranty service is an old old (old) con in any service environment.  Still doesn't make it any less of a pain the ass for the poor schmuck who seemingly has to jump through extra hoops to get his car or bike worked on.

Your episode is one of the sorrier examples Duane; that's for sure.  Unfortunately it's also one of too many that get shared by even this small cohort.  A little scary to consider how much actually goes on that never makes a public discussion.
