I showed my Le Nale to the tech at HD. He said, after feeling the output, that it sure puts out more air than the HD unit. I've used it several times in heavy long duration traffic and have not overheated while others in the group I ride with have.
Le Nale talks about testing them in their discussion on their web site, but they don't talk about end result CFM. I find that it works fine and I'm glad I put one on both my '07 & '08 CUSE2 & 3.
I have some experience in the streetrod area. We've had lots of discussion on electric fans, straight blade, curved blades, you name it. It's common to estimate 1 amp of fan motor load to 100 cfm of output. So as an example a 3,000 cfm 16" fan would pull about 30 amps on your electrical system.
So as a rule of thumb, if you know the amp load of the fan, times that by 100 to get a rough idea of the cfm output.
Some guys get into trouble with the combined load of accessories they install on their cars. Keep in mind that when idling under a high load situation, stereo on, headlight on, the voltage drops and the fan will now run slower due to the drop in voltage producing less cooling as a result.
Hope this helps.
