I have read page after page about the 110 problems and I believe everything I hear, after all what would be the motive to fabricate stories. What I haven't heard from anyone, is a description of their riding style. I realize that these bikes were built for power. I just wonder if riding style plays some part in the problems experienced by so many. After all drag bikes require much more maintenance because the engines are always pushed to the limit. One who constantly pushes their bike to 4, 5, or 6 thousand RPM's will likely have more problems than one who shifts at 3 to 35oo rpm's. Even if we expect the motor should have been built to take it. By the mods I see some of you have done to increase performance it makes sense to me that you either twist the wick right often or you just like throwing money away. One of the mechanics at the dealer (when I first picked up my bike) said I should run it like I stole it or something to that effect and not worry about babying it for the 1st thousand miles. That was scary because he obviously knew nothing about the real effects of that kind of behavior. I bought my bike for the highway power it should have and the prestige that goes with it. I hope I never experience the problems you all have but I will keep you informed. I plan to be on the road for a couple of months this summer and don't want to see any dealers cept for the routine stuff. :coolblue: :coolblue:

If that was the case, these "rider induced problems"  should have also occured with the evo motors and the 88, 95, 103 TC motors which we have also owned or still owned and modified.  Heat problems were not documented here and in other boards and magazines as well as technical bulletins from HD on the earlier models either.  BTW, I do not ride as you describe.  I rarely beat on the bike and my motor was replaced before 4000mi. with a bad crank after two attempts to fix the head gasket leaks.  You have no idea what you are writing about.

I wondered what a post from Jim Ziemer (HD CEO) would look like on this board.

For some reason I feel dirty and need to take a shower.  G'night all.

See everyone again after Georgia.  Don't have a clue yet if I get to leave tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning.  But tomorrow is going to be a zoo no matter what.  C'mon red bike!!

Prestigious.   That's exactly what it would look like.

Hope your oil dipstick puker ceases & desists 2LR.   Maybe if you kept those rpms under 2.5-3k with a slow throttle hand?

Just couldn't resist, but I really did not try this time.

Ride safe.

Well my my I thought this was a sight where folks put Ideas across to fellow riders and those interested would read it(YES  READ) and try to spend a minute in thought to understand what the author is saying. It seems that some are more interested in politics and slinging mud than attempting to find understanding. It comes as no surprise that some of you would even wish me ill and would some how find pleasure in me experiencing the same problems as you. Could it be that this sight is really about conforming and fitting into the click you have established? Does anybody really want to understand  why these engines experience the problems they do. Forgive me for trying to get you to look at a different angle. No I wont hide or leave this site. I'll bet it's only a few that are so self centered. If you have no pride in your ride, your one of very few. What is prestige??

Prestige is:  http://imdb.com/title/tt0482571/ and it might be a few other things as well.

Wish you no ill will & if you find the click that is established here, I want an invite.  If they can read - well that'll be

a HUGE surprise.

People have great pride in their rides here - love of their machines and the fun involved in riding them.  Some have

even attempted slight modifications to create a more individual ride - in my case I have spent almost $750 (at least

that is what I told my wife but she may have seen receipts to the contrary).

And I cannot be self centered cuz somebody here keeps telling me I list to the right  but I am left handed.  This often

confuses me, but I am used to it.

Anyway, welcome to the site Russ, in case I did not welcome you before.

Allright that's it Mike.
Your cut off.
You have reached your $750.00 Hogbreath imposed limit.
Anything else will have to be a gift from dOOd. (that works for me, that's why Nancy thinks he's such a nice guy)

As far as Russ, people come here, people leave from here, but in my opinion the best ones stay.
They have to, what's not to like about this place, well besides me and , , , , HMMMMMMMM. (better leave that one alone)

No more spending ISKI !

Russ

Why did you say that?
Did someone ask you to?
Are you in a new environment where you don't understand the people or what?
There are lots good people here, you could be one of them, just take your time to get and know them.
That can be your choice.

Chip, Hogbreath is my spiritual advisor.  He may not know it, and so far have not seen any videos of him on tv yelling or berating parishioners or anything official, but the $750 limit is very important according to the Wisdom of Ken.  Latest calculations (my new calculator) show I have $745.95 left to spend, so I'm not cut off and as Karen Carpenter sang but not for her supper, We've Only Just Begun.  d00d is busy sending stuff to you so you can add to your garage take off hanging collection so hate to bother him by asking him to send stuff to me.  Have not seen your garage Chip but if it's anything like I imagine, you may need to check into extra ceiling supports.

Thankyou for your welcome. I too take great pride in my bike, after all it's 60 years in the making. I might not have realized when I was first born but in me was a gene that made my ass wanna be on a Harley seat. My Dad rode a 80" flathead. So after My Uncle Sam was through with me and taught me a great deal about how to be anti-social it was only fitting that I would follow that path. Harley provided what I was craving. A bunch of likeminded folks. Several years and a half dozen Harleys later I found myself making a living working on what others were good at breaking. My new FLHTCUSE3 is a reflection of years of struggle to ride what I feel is the best motorcycle in production today! Yes when I ride it I ride it with pride. It gives me prestige because it is all I've ever wanted. I have achieved the greatest wealth. It's paid for, I'm retired and no I won't be putting it on a trailer. I live in my RV. It moves to NC in the spring and to FL in the fall, other than that it does not move. I have no 4 wheel vehicle and haven't for several years now. I feel free in saying my ass has done it's fair share of miles and I ain't quitting anytime soon. So whoever wants to try to try and spit their toebacky in my eye better be good cause I'll be flying down the road without a care.

ISKI

I can't speak for Ken bit I would imagine he's honored that you consider him your spiritual adviser. Is that like "Adviser of Spirits?"
I apologize, i thought you had reached the Ken imposed $750.00 spending limit. At $745.95 left your in good shape.
Was only offering the dOOd solution if you needed it.
As far as needing ceiling supports your right. I'm all about collecting 01 SERG parts and the floor is to crowded with bikes and scooters, so it's gotta be the ceiling. Thought about sending it to dOOd place but as much as he helps me now, that might be pushing it.

I know, I know, build bigger garage!
