Russ, officially I have no idea, since I'm certainly no official, but those who choose to post nonsense weird criticisms to those with less than 50 posts in a manner that is usually reserved for those who have 50+ posts, get a form of probation.  I was on a super secret probation, then  removed from that, then placed on a list and some other secret probation, and then I stopped posting here.  So far that seems to have helped. So this is not a post.

Sounds like you are having a great time riding.  Enjoy the site!

I've never gotten off probation and don't hope to either

Welcome aboard Russ! I've got many thoughts on your posts here. I'll keep most of them to myself for now though. Suffice it to say that the 110's were never tested properly before they were introduced on the '07 CVO's. As a result, HD now finds that they bit off more than they can chew with them. You must separate normal expected reliability, from performance. Now, HD can't even hit the first mark, even bone stock 65 HP 110's. So forget the performance being the problem.

If HD didn't patent the crap out of everything since the '06 Dynas, we might have alternative solutions to fix them ourselves. Delcron, and the others you mention, do not offer cases for use with '06 Dynas or '07/'08 bikes. So buying an aftermarket performance engine is not an option. Unless you want a Jims, who's in bed with HD, and never got my vote of confidence. So why buy the bike in the first place, and what to do about this?

I love Road Kings, and the '07SERK was the bike for me. We all know that this ain't rocket science. It's no secret that I ride the crap out of my bike. It needs an engine that can support that. That sure ain't a stock 110! But that platform can't support itself, let alone performance mods added to it. So I got ahold of the best quality racing components I could, and had a new 110 motor built with aftermarket internals. I have only 400 miles on it so far, but the sound from it is night and day different than an HD motor. No motor noise, very smooth and free spinning, and feels great so far. This is my attempted solution to get both the reliability I demand and the performance I need.

But there are many here whose riding styles are stated openly, and there's no reason we can't build them up to meet our requirements. Like I said, this ain't friggin' rocket science. But don't blame the owners! HD made junk this time around. And dealing with them on this is like beating your head against the wall. it feels good when you stop!!! ;)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAmen by brother and I'm going to put my head to better use. To bad there are so many folks on here that have a problem understanding what I'm trying to say. But I ride alone and I really enjoy going through life in the dark. I hate the news and I really hate close minded folks. I thought this was a sight where folks discussed. Attitudes are a dime a dozen. Assholes are everywhere. I'm old school and too old for new tricks. I dare say there are few in this room that have the miles on there ass or have had the experience I have had. Thats not to brag it's just a f*ckin fact. So carry on and when the folks in this room get all the answers well.... they will be richer and better men than I. I really think they shouldn't hold their breath. I will say I'm happy to have stirred so much chit. That is what I'm best at. And anyone who wants to reply well, take the time to make your replies worth reading. Thats to say if you think you can make a statement in two or three words then I clearly can understand you intelligence level. Now the pots boiling so let her rip. God bless....Russ.... Awe hell I know your thinking I'm the one with the attitude.... But I have none because I really don't give a chit. For what it's worth I did what I love best tonight. Drinking with bro's, no cares and well.... Just had a f*ckin good time!!!1 Gooood night!!!!Russ

ok ok I'm chilled and yes I take my chill pills daily. I never meant to offend anyone and I most of all sympathize with the problems y'all have. The point I was trying to make is that I really believe Harley had no business getting into the performance end. All this I'm reading comes a bit late for me. I now have to deal with it. Think about it, how can we have expected to buy a 110 performance machine so cheap. Yes cheap! go to the AHDRA races and talk to folks about what they have invested in their motors. We paid a whole bunch for all the chrome and radio chit. Now that is no excuse for Harley. They should save some face and either get out of the business or be serious. The latter I could never afford. As far as all the bikes in the past? well I guess they were built better although the evo's had their share of problems( i.e. cases cracking, cylinder studs stretching). The shovels? great engines! too bad there were so many back yard mechanics out there. Harley should be much better today, the advances in oil, metal compositions etc. But those things can't make up for bad engineering. Yea when mine breaks I'm gonna fairly pissed off, hope those chill pills I take can handle it. :nixweiss:

Russ, no offense taken, but your point about the problems being rider induced just doesn't hold water. The sheer percentage of 110's that have fallen victim to the head gasket leaks alone is staggering compared to any one particular failure in any other model year. I don't have the numbers to back this up, but I'd be willing to bet money that the failure rate of 110 head gaskets is MUCH higher than the failure rate of the '99 twin cams with suspect rear cam bearings. We heard a lot about that one maybe happening, but not nearly as many failures.

What I can tell you in total honesty is that every 110, (100%) that has parked in my garage has failed at least one set of head gaskets, and 60% of them (maybe 80%) of them have had multiple failures. What other engine program has that type of failure record? None.

Rider induced, I don't think so. Bad parts for sure.

Welcome.

Thankyou for your welcome. I too take great pride in my bike, after all it's 60 years in the making. I might not have realized when I was first born but in me was a gene that made my ass wanna be on a Harley seat. My Dad rode a 80" flathead. So after My Uncle Sam was through with me and taught me a great deal about how to be anti-social it was only fitting that I would follow that path. Harley provided what I was craving. A bunch of likeminded folks. Several years and a half dozen Harleys later I found myself making a living working on what others were good at breaking. My new FLHTCUSE3 is a reflection of years of struggle to ride what I feel is the best motorcycle in production today! Yes when I ride it I ride it with pride. It gives me prestige because it is all I've ever wanted. I have achieved the greatest wealth. It's paid for, I'm retired and no I won't be putting it on a trailer. I live in my RV. It moves to NC in the spring and to FL in the fall, other than that it does not move. I have no 4 wheel vehicle and haven't for several years now. I feel free in saying my ass has done it's fair share of miles and I ain't quitting anytime soon. So whoever wants to try to try and spit their toebacky in my eye better be good cause I'll be flying down the road without a care.

Well after reading up to this point I was thinking site members might be a bit harsh on the new guy and then, "well thats the spirt Russ".

But I have since read to the end  and  :nixweiss:

I told JD this past weekend, We need a bigger garage. She put her foot down and said NO. I thought about it, and said, you're right. We already have a 3 car garage. You could start parking outside.

That went over.....badly.

Really have a way expressing your ideas eh?

It's your approach Ken that needs a little polishing!
Try this,

"Cheri (honey baby)
Instead of leaving the bikes outside and letting them get so dirty, bring them into the garage so when you wash them it won't take away from your time cooking my dinner. Leave you car out and I will take it to AutoBell once a month."

And Chip has an even better way  :2vrolijk_21:

Just wait till you guys get Cheri and Nancy together at the next GTG   :smash: :whip:

show I have $745.95 left to spend,

Just to show Russel no one in the clic is safe..................

I believe there iski you said you spent $5.05. That would leave you with $744.95. So you have one less piece of chrome to buy. You'll be spending it on a new calculator
