Hey, thanks to everyone who has gone digging for answers. I was looking at the picture twolanerider provided; if you look closely the receiver antenna, is not for the tour pak solenoid, it appears to be one of the saddlebag solenoids, look at the latches at the ends of the cables to confirm this. I tend to think that may make installation a little easier. THOUGHTS?
Seems as though the receiver is part of the latch Assembly for the Tour Pak. You can see the antenna in the picture.
I'm not sure guys. From the pic in fact I don't think so.
The solenoid/cable/latch assemblies for the saddlebags look to be identical as those for 06-07. What you may be seeing as antenna is the two wire harness that connects to the bike outside the saddlebag. It's two wires, not three, as each is alternatively power or ground depending on whether it's engaged to lock or unlock. The dual relay pack swaps them back and forth.
The latch assembly and solenoid/cable/latch for the tour pak seem to be the same thing. In fact the only power to the parts in the tour pak is to the solenoid pak. That other latch part appears entirely unpowered and without any electrical connection.
At least based on what the 06-07 parts after having them all in hand fabbing up my own power lock system I don't see anything in the saddlebags or tour pak that I'd expect to be a remote receiver. Since (at least on the 06-07s) there's a bidirectional diode in those downwind legs to the saddlebags and tour pak the signal could not be initiated from that end without more going on either.
As for the keys; if the 06-07 parts are anything to go by I'd expect this not to be an issue actually. Ordering the saddlebag keyed parts for my 05 using the 07 part number was as normal as could be. Just gave them the correct key code for my bike and ordered normally. No question from anyone whatsoever. Had them in hand in a week or so. If the barrel inner and outer diameter is the same (and they are) then it's only another key to cut just like any other.
