          Did anyone see the new remote lock system offered by Harley? Its listed online, under touring (new), and includes all the solenoids, wiring, and two remotes. Listed to fit 08s only, but I'm wondering if the remotes, can be utilized with an 07 CUSE, if so, I think I may try do so. I know my bike already has the solenoids and such, however, the kit may be the best way to do the upgrade. What do my fellow 06, and 07 CUSE owners think?

That is interesting and would definitely be nice to have the remote feature added to what we already have. As long as I don't have to re-key everything I'm interested in getting what is needed to add to our system for the remote function. I hope I can furnish them my key code and get the new keys cut to match my current locks. Otherwise, we'll need 4 new lock cylinders too. I don't like the idea of having another fob to carry, but if it would take the place of the current key, it's not another fob, but just a much bigger key.

I'll swing by the dealer today and see if I can get a parts breakdown of the kit.

For example... I was in the service dept awhile back and commented that I needed some wheel weights to replace the factory weights that were slung off of the tire. The girl at the service desk asked me which weight was it. I looked at her puzzled. She then proceeded to tell me that all of the weights were the same length, about 1.5 inches, and there are different thicknesses, to get the different weights. She needed to know the part number for the weight that came on my bike so she could get the proper one. I politely said OK and excused myself.

I then wandered back to talk to the mechanic and got five 0.25 oz segments because I thought that was about the length of tape left on the wheel.

And they wonder why we question what they say.

if you look at view 2 it shows the parts it comes with...I would think that it would work unless they changed the interface between the '07 and the '08 models...now that I have a plastic tour pak instead of leather I my try it...also generally you can purchase the parts you need out of a kit with the part numbers from the instruction sheet

OK here is the first problem with retro fitting an 06-07.
The power remote does not contain the transmitter for the HD security system.
You would have to carry the security key fob AND the power lock transmitter.
I have not verified this yet, but if it is true, this counts me out.
I am not carrying 2 key fobs...

I'm positive that's the way it works because that's the way it is on the 08's. The fob is not a combo security / remote.

But I still want to see it, so pleeeeeaaaaaasssssssseeeeee.

You are correct Chuck.  On the 08's, the key is made into the remote for the locks and the fob is separate.

The harness for the pre-08 bikes does not have any unused socket in to which would plug any kind of remote receiver.  The parts for the entirety of the harness are the switch, two diode protected relays and the relay socket, and one bidirectional diode in between the two runs that go back to he saddlebags.

So if anything with a remote receiver were added it would have to be a new variant of the relay pack that had the receiver built in to them.  Adding remote control to the existing harness actually wouldn't be any big deal.  Could be done with pieces from Radio Shack for (if I remember right) $30-35.

Whatever the 08 harness and remote control system is, however, couldn't be a direct plug in retrofit unless it retrofit in the relay pack.  There's simply nothing else that plugs in to the harness.

Sorry guys, still no parts breakdown or instruction sheet.
By looking at the parts picture, it looks like the receiver is part of the Tour Pak latch.
If I am looking it correctly, everything is plug and play except for a fused power supply and a separate ground.
I am willing to bet we will be able to retrofit this... Everybody break out their wallets!!!!
