Sorry it took you longer then I stated.
Hey J-Carr
I'm cool. The time wasn't the issue of course, it was the unfamiliarity.
I think I started to just hand my wallet over to mechanics right after I sold my 1966 VW van.
I was nervous about even trying to install it myself, but guess what?
I did it with your help and I could do that and probably now have some confidence to do more.
I've been thinking about that and my initial whiny post and have decided that
I need to go find myself another copy of "The Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance"--
one of my favorite books from 30 years ago--
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_and_the_Art_of_Motorcycle_Maintenancewhich is about the different ways one might view taking on motorcycle maintenance and how that
relates to how one might live one's life. Sort of a service manual for attitude.
So, I just ordered myself a copy tonite from Barnes and Noble, will read it again, and contemplate a little deeper on
why I bought this Harley last year. Doing this install successfully is part of the same self-sufficient freedom
I feel when I ride. It's nice to know I have this forum to pull me out of the POS if I fall into it.
