I received a Smart Siren II and pager yesterday for my FLHTCUSE3. The instructions for the FL models say to remove the right side cover and replace the Siren I.
Under the right side cover is the ABS module.
Is the Siren I under the seat ?
Anyone else done this that can give me some tips ?

On an 07, the Smart Siren II is under the right side cover behind the plate the ECM mounts to.  I can't speak to an 08 though...

It's under the side cover on the left hand side.  You need to remove the seat also so you can run the ransmitter antenna wire along the frame.  The Siren itself is just snapped into place at the front of the black plastic piece under the cover. It took me about 5 minutes to do the whole job and I only needed a phillips screwdriver to remove the seat.

Now that I think about it, there may have been a bolt holding a clip over the siren... It's been since September since I did it and I've done it on an older Ultra and my wife's Street Bob so I may be suffering a case of Old Timer's disease!  But I'm sure the location is correct as is the need to take the seat off to run the transmitter wire.

Okay, the new Siren II is installed. The antenna is 16" long and the velcro antenna strap is only 8". Did you double up the antenna wire under the velcro or just put the thin part of the antenna wire under the velcro and route the rest of the antenna elsewhere ?

The last few inches are the only part that needs to be isolated, but for neatness sake I did double it up under the velcro.  The range is about the same as on my wife's bike, where it is not doubled up so I don't think it makes a difference.

I doubled it up under the velcro and I get just over a half mile range with the bike parked in the closed garage.
This is good for any bar that I may be concerned about. If it goes off, I'll know I need to call a cab.

I was so encouraged by this I decided to install it myself last night.
It took me an hour. Could probably do it again today in 15-30 minutes.
Took me 15 minutes just to figure out what the maxi-fuse was.
No pictures or directions I could find for the maxi-fuse in the owner's manual either.

The MOCO directions were close to useless for my 2008 Ultra Screamin Eagle, but
Yes, the siren is on the LEFT side- no help from the directions- I had to ID it from the plug type.
Old one doesn't pull out anything like the directions say.

It's done right and it works right and I'm proud of myself, but if anyone is like me- mechanically nervous,
I might a suggest dealer install.

P.S. The posts in this thread about how to install the antenna were invaluable or I would have been lost on that.

Sorry it took you longer then I stated.  I do have quite a bit of familiarity with working under the seat and cases and on the electronics on dressers and some other models too.  I can have the side case off in about 30 seconds and have the seat off in another minute.  Pulling the Maxi fuse and the siren takes just a few seconds and then snapping everything back in a few more.  When you need to stop and figure out what the parts are and where they are you're going to take a lot longer so don't be discouraged.

What I can tell you about any accessory is the installation instructions almost always assume you have a service manual or the equivilant knowledge.  Any time I try to tackle a project that I haven't done before I start out by reading the appropriate sections in the service manual.  For the FLHTCUSE3 or any CVO bike you need two... One is the standard model Service Manual and the other is the Screaming Eagle supplement.  MoCo has to be sure to get an $45 or whatever they go for out of you.  Never the less, I wouldn't do any self installs without purchasing those first.

The other thing is, you can always post a question here first.  The question I answered was simply on the location of the siren since it's moved between '07 and '08.  The other members or myself would have been glad to give you some help with the location of the Maxi-Fuse, step by step instructions and of course, tell you how you should save your money to replace the leaking head gasket with a completely different motor!

I'm cool. The time wasn't the issue of course, it was the unfamiliarity.
I think I started to just hand my wallet over to mechanics right after I sold my 1966 VW van.
I was nervous about even trying to install it myself, but guess what?
I did it with your help and I could do that and probably now have some confidence to do more.

I've been thinking about that and my initial whiny post and have decided that
I need to go find myself another copy of "The Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance"--
one of my favorite books from 30 years ago--

Hey, back in the day, you would get double sercet probation at a minimun and maybe even an EBCM for picking on a newbie. Don't ask me how I have such a personal knowledge of this information.
