2008 Engine Issues
« on: February 23, 2008, 09:31:50 AM »

Are the engine issues resolved in the 2008 FLHTCUSE3 (oil leak, cylinder issue)?

Thanks,

Frank

Frank,
First off welcome to the site glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21: When you get a chance you should go to this board - New Member Introduction to start a thread to introduce yourself.

Even though your question is asking about the CUSE's the issues involve all the CVO 110ci motors. There are several threads pertaining to this problem if you do a search for "gasket leaks",  "oil leaks", "cylinder leaks" you should find several threads.

I have read through all of the threads that you mention.  I am about to take a huge loss on a 2008 SG to purchase a 2008 FLHTCUSE3.  I do not want to do this trade if I am going to have issue with the 110".  Can someone just give me a yea or nea whether or not Harley has the issue resolved on the 2008?

That may be somewhat hard to do because of the mileage that these issues are showing up in (not sure if there would be a significant number of owners here that would have the miles on their bikes where these problems occur to give adequate data), and randomly showing up in some bikes and not others. To definitely say that the '08's will/will not have this problem might be premature at this time. :nixweiss:

I have an '08 sitting in the garage waiting for spring & am not concerned. I'll ride the chit out of it & if it breaks, they can fix it!

Just FWIW, no issues with a 110" '07 FLHRSE3 here.  None.

My opinion:
If you want the bike buy it.
Are the problems resolved, No! But not all 110's are having problems either.

Another welcome from Illinois.

Buy her and enjoy. I've had some motor problems but I'd buy her again. Of course that just makes me insane.  :D

Frank,
Welcome to the site...if you want the SEUC3, get it ... if you have any issues, that's what the warranty's for.  I have an 07 SEUC2 and haven't had, so far, any issues with my engine.
