Absolutely right Don! If I knew then what I know today, there'd be a Jim's 120 or 131 in there right now. But bear in mind, nobody really expected this much grief from these 110's. Hindsight is always 20-20 my brother! ;)

But ultimately, I'm happy with her now, as long as my issues are behind me! :2vrolijk_21:

That is the absolute kicker in these sagas.  We expect glitches from HD.  Even systems failures.  New things that don't work.  Because, well; that's just what they do.  And we're lemmings that way without the sense not to keep putting up with or holding them to account.

But, even from HD, it just seemed beyond expectation to receive bad motors.  MOTORS?  Not with 21st century modeling and machining.  Not with modern controls and monitoring methods.  Not with literal life threatening liabilities on the line.  Not even from a corporate entity so patently arrogant and self-interested as HD.  Not when the motor is the heart and soul of the perception of the product.

They'd just not screw that up.  But yet, as so many have learned so annoyingly, painfully and even dangerously, yes they can.  And would.  And did.  Then rub salt in the wounds by trying band aid fixes on open fractures and admitting or warning of nothing in the process.

We defeated and occupied Japan.  Even with the oriental arrogance that is still prevelant as consumers the Japanese treat us well.  It's sometimes seems too bad we can't defeat and occupy Milwaukee.

Well, not exactly! Well, actually, FTF & FTW, I wouldn't bring my bike back to the dealers for any work again. So WTF good is the w.....ty! I just made believe the w.....ty was expired and do what I do with all the bikes I've owned outright with no w.....ty on them. You can actually get to work with people that GAS and know what they're doing that way. Saw early on not to waste my time playing the stupid w.....ty game! "I just wanna be freee to ride my machine...!" ;)

Yeah Hogasm, but it's something fun to do now while I'm home sick. You can never learn too much anyway. I'm concerned about warranty because I need it to be covered anywhere, home or on the road. Thanks man. Hoist!

(12-4-06)
Thanks guys. Like I said earlier, I'm not looking to hop-up this bike, just get it running right. Pipes, K&N, SERT will basically do that and still maintain my Warranty. So why not maintain the Warranty?

dOOd, I fully agree. I think now I can accomplish the pipe and SERT change and still maintain the Warranty because I do have a good relationship with my dealer

(12-5-06)
I agree with you Mike. After warranty, I'll do what I want to the bike. Until then, I just want it to run properly. My thinking is that the SERT will offer the best and easiest way to deal with MoCo, while having the bike run decently in the meantime

I could go on and on. LOL I'm bad.

You're no longer a newbie. If you had to say what you've learned in one sentence..............What would it be?

Alright spyd, ya got me there! :2vrolijk_21:

What have I learned besides FTF & FTW? Nah, I kinda already knew that too before this place! :o

Hmmm, well if I have to do it in one sentence, I can only best say:

This place rules, and I would've spent a half a century gathering all the info to get my SERK as spiffy as it is right now without it!!! :drink:

How's that? I mighta come up with some clever little stupid Hoist jokes. But the above is the damn truth! :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:

TODAY'S UPDATE:

Went by the shop today to reveiw the electronics phase of Cybil II's mods. Glad I did. I didn't realize that only I could determine where I want the Zumo located. Since this is a permanent installation, I wanted it to be as unobtrusive (not like me) as possible. We found a good spot for it on the left side of the handlebars, but angled the TechMount so it sits directly behind the bar itself, behind the clutch master cyl. So we went over all the req'ts for mounting and wiring it. Taking the advice here and wiring it, along with the 2WheelTunes Amp, to the Accessory Switch.

Then we reviewed the req'ts for the 2WT system. Artie's going to internally wire the front speakers, which will mount under the mirrors, where the original Turn Signals were located. The Amp mounts on the crossmember on the downtubes. We can't internally wire the Audio Output Wire from the Zumo from the amp, without cutting into the Jack. So the Audio Signal wire will be mounted externally.

So until the KTP arrives, I'll be able to use this system with the front speakers alone. I need to locate an 8 foot Audio Cable to connect the Rear Hawg Wired Amp to the Zumo as well. I'll also need a 2 foot length, and some kinda coupling, for a quick connect of the TP Audio Wire. Anyone have a source for this? :nixweiss:

He also was installing the Xetronics HID lighting as I was leaving. Unfortunately, he's off tomorrow and Fri, so I probably won't see the bike this weekend.

Bummer, it's supposed to be real nice. But they got the wrong front tire in anyway. They were sent a D-402 non-radial, in my size. But they have the D-407 Radial held at another HD dealer. I'll pick it up tomorrow and drop it off to them on Sat.

Feuling is sending out the rest of the hardware so everything matches. I'll get them on when I receive them. When the KTP arrives, we'll just have to mount the Amp and Crossovers, do some additional wiring, and my Baby will be completed for this season!!! :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:

Don't ask, Pics to follow when I get it back next week! :2vrolijk_21:
