TODAY'S UPDATE:

I installed the Cycle Sounds Hi Output replacement 2" speakers in the 2WT Bullet Housings with the Highway Acoustic Grilles. In my garage, there wasn't very much difference. Maybe a bar on the Zumo Volume. But those grilles seem to project the sound closer. Not sure how much difference they'll make overall until I try it on the highway. I'll let ya know if it was worth it. :confused5:

Tuesday we're mounting and wiring the HW 150W amp. This should sound great after that's connected with them 6.5" Polks.

I'd like to thank Craig (lilbear) for volunteering to make me some SD cards of music for me!!! Craig, the selections are awesome. It should help with the volume too, because they seem to be at a higher sensitivity than the XM is. Appreciate it Craig! Dinner's on me when we meet! :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

No Dave, not much too see. The speakers looked almost identical to the originals, heavier magnets and a little better made. The grilles are identical except they protrude out of the bullet housing about 2", instead of 3/4" like original grilles. I'll get some new pics after it's done with the new amp installed. ;)

I looked at their website after seeing yours but they don't publish any specs on the speakers that I could find.  What is the frequency response of the 2" speakers?  I know you'll get plenty of bass from the polks, but are you depending on all (or most) of the bass to come from behind?

You're not getting what anyone can call bass out of those 2" speakers. They'll provide you sound if you have none. They're pretty decent while stopped or low speed. But they sure ain't audiophile quality! I was counting on the rear for quality. I knew going in that it wasn't the case with the front. My friend has it on his RK and had known this already.

remember base is omnidirectional and you rely on 80 hz and up to set the front stage. as hertz increase, you can decrease power. this redneck went to world finals im IASCA! also had paul klipsch hand wind my home sound system. in an open environement like a bike, i would crossover the front stage at 60 hz and give a minimal 200 watts power per channel to soundstream or diamond audio 6" mids and cross em out at around 140 letting the highs do their job. bass would be one 10" in a custom enclosure with a dedicated 500 watt amp. secondary battery like a battcap recommended and johnny winters wont pull too much power too quickly.

i did mention i was a redneck?

Holy crap a redneck audiophile! That's almost an oxymoron!!! ;D

Well looks like me and Cybil are riding to the shop in the rain today. She's getting in for the amp install, and no rain is gonna stop her! Leaving in a little bit. This mod should be cool! ;)

yep, i be's one!

I is too.

Or at least I thought I is until I read your post and didn't understand any of it.  But it sure sounds awesome!  I thought just enjoying tractor pulls, burning stuff outside, beer, BBQ, and John Deere made me a redneck.
