She has been in a mood.  She is making the trip to Georgia though.  I'm afraid of what she'd do while I'm gone if I rode the other bike right now.

Dont give it a second thought Don, I rode Bessie cross country last year. She was puking oil everywhere and had parts falling off left and right.

She was giving me chit the whole way but she made it.

Just remember....Easy Off Oven Cleaner will get the oil ff the cases :2vrolijk_21: and will leave no residue :coolblue:

I've got a couple of different breather hardware options here leftover from when I was fighting the zippered combination's terrible venting and puking Ernie.  Unless this thing surprises me I don't think it's going to be a big deal.  Not showing any signs of it anyway.  Hopefully using the simple upturning Bluegrass vents that Pete mentioned will take care of it.  Very simple and I already own the parts.  After that will have to dig a little deeper in the parts drawer.

Don,

Don't know the details on how you installed the Bluegrass vents, but I ran the two vent hoses from the heads to a tee, then a single hose down the backbone (under the gas tank), then parallel to the gas tank vent hose exiting under the bike.  No maintenance at all, no mess.  Published a thread on this somewhere

Pete I did the same thing. Since the rebuild, not one drop of oil anywhere :2vrolijk_21:

No need to use oven cleaner ever again :carrot: :jalapeno:

When I used them with the old top end I was in a hurry prior to a little trip and didn't route it.  Was just hoping that the upturn of the nipples would allow gravity to be enough of an assist to make the situation better.  It didn't :huepfenlol2: .

Sounds like one or both of you breather lines is clogged, causing higher case pressure, which is routing thru the vent line back to the oil tank. Pressure pushed out the dipstick. Might want to check those lines and breather bolts. My guess.  :nixweiss:

Will check them all again when I look at it again likely this weekend.  They were all cleaned and flushed through when the top end was reassembled about 800 miles ago though.

No idea where they name comes from Duane.  But it's what Kuryakyn calls these vent tubes.

Does this require mods to the ac rear housing? Isn't the area where the ac plate mounts to the heads?

Duane,

Depends on the AC assembly.  I have a Zippers AC and had to use the existing breather bolts which worked fine.  The kit comes with its own bolts that I assume can be used with most AC assemblies.  Check the Kuryakyn site and you can view the installation instructions before ordering.
