JTY,

Welcome from Oklahoma!

Going from a VTX to a RoadKing will be night & day difference on the ride.  You may have to work a little to get the performance close to the 1800 VTX.

Dependable.........well, you will probably want to read a few of the threads here.

Hi all,

I am a new member here, and signed up since I am planning a high perf Road King to be my next bike. I currently ride a tuned-up Honda VTX 1800 and am looking for a best way to get similar performance. I got my eyes on the new 110" FLHRSE but am a generally a little concerned buying anything with a brand new engine. The dyno charts here are definitely convincing but is the new engine reliable?

Welcome to the site from Illinois!   :2vrolijk_21:

My advice is buy the bike, ride it, if it breaks, fix it and then start riding again...

Welcome aboard! The 110" is a good starting point and has good low end torque. Like others have mentioned buy it, ride it anf fis it if needed. You won't reget the purchase.

Welcome from Northern California!  :2vrolijk_21:

The Road King is a great choice, and while there are some issues being reported here on the 110" engine, hopefully the MOCO will get those resolved before releasing the new models this summer.

Again welcome to the site, you'll get lots of good (sometimes expensive) advice here and when you get to CA, there are plenty of members scattered up and down the state.

CHEERS!
