paul, hold the bulb in you hand and look at the black cover where the white lead comes out, thats the ground side, you shouls also see a small tab in the opening next to the wire. thats the hot side.

not knowing if the housing on the bike is different on a police model, but the ground side should be rivited to the back of the housing and have a black cover ofer the connectoer, plug the white lead into that. the hot wire on the bike side will be an exposed femal spade type connectoer that will plug onto the small tab under the black cover on the back of the bulb

Haven't looked today but thought I saw two leads AND a ground tail on the current assembly. I know there's on one on the halogens.

you might have an extra lead , does the RED/BLUE lights on a police bike have 2 filaments?

silverstars arrived at work today, so i ran outside and swppaed thm, sorry no camera here, they are definately whiter and brighter now, not sure if those were the originals in the lamps since i got them used on ebay, but one of them the inner piece wasnted seated propery so i fixed that.

now that i have had the boot off ( does the factory glue them on that well or was that the last owner ) the ground wire slides onto a tab on the housing it doesnt actualy touch the bulb.

next time i get a chance i'll take another pic in the garage so you can see the difference

Thanks Neal. That's gotta be the crappiest website ever! The H3 looks like a bulb, not a sealed unit. But there's no pic of it when you click it. But in those miniature pics, I didn't see anything that resembled the spotlamps.

The bulb in the HD spot is replacable? Never knew that!

Are your HID's blue or white? The new spots definitely look better, but compared to the HID's, they're still pretty yellow. I guess you can't match the HID's, huh?

HID's are 8000k blue, luminics claims to have a matching h-3, but i like having some contrast between the 2 i think it helps make me more visible
