No I didn't get 7 yrs. total.  I confirmed it with the service manager.  I was also told it overlapped my original warranty.  I have 5 yrs. TOTAL, and I paid $1,700.

I just went and checked my paper work. My extended Service plan cost $1859.00 and expires on 12/01/13. That is a total of seven years from date of purchase. Tire & wheel coverage is included.

Yep, and you overlapped the original warranty, thereby lost 2 years.

It starts when the "date of service of the motorcycle" kicks in.

Yep, that's right, for 7 years total.  You're not losing two years in the deal, like you stated Vags. When they quote a timeframe on the extended service contract, that includes the two-year factory warranty.  You're paying for 5 extra years when you buy the 7-year policy.  That's what I got with my machine + the tire/wheel hazzard warranty, for $1850.

Steve G.  I'd go back to my dealer and complain...for that price you should have gotten the 7-year total package, not a 5-year total.  They over-charged you for a 5 year.

Ouch  :o  Sorry to hear that Bro.   :-\   Guess that explains the over-charge on the ESP then.   :-[

I've never owned one model for more than seven years - Life is too short to ride one type of bike. (just my thought) yours may differ.

I should mention that I was offered a 7 year warranty, but that was more than $2,000.  I figured I should have the bugs worked out at the end of 5 yrs.  -Hopefully! :bananarock:
Also, since my bike arrived two and a half months late, and they had sold my trade in during the Sturgis rally, I reminded the sales manager about the concept of the time value of money.  As a result they knocked $600 off the warranty.
I was told that many of the extended car and truck warranties are overlapping programs too.  -I'll have to take that on faith, as I have never purchased an extended vehicle warranty before.
If my bike toasts my nuts I'll probably do the pipes, A/C and SERT.  I did this on my last CVO and didn't have any worries about hurting my warranty.  I'm just hoping I don't ever have to use it.  If I experience the problems many of you have, I know I'm going to do a permanent fix.  I don't want to have my bike to spend half of the time in the shop.
-Oh that's right- these bikes aren't seeing ANY problems.  Right? :huepfenjump3:

Can you purchase an exended warranty after the old one expires?

I did not realize that mine was done, now I'm kicking myself! :nervous:

I'm not sure about that Murphy...I know you have until the last day of your factory warranty to extend it out for the ESP cost + $150 surcharge.  After the factory warranty is up, I'm not sure they're let you get the new bike extended anymore.  Maybe you can get the used bike extended service plan?   :nixweiss:

I think that will be the only option you will have, and it isn't cheap. :o
