Here in the western St. Louis are when you use your debit card, it's $1.55/9. That's about 1 mile from my house.
Over the past year or so, not needing premium I didn't pay that close attention, but it used to be that the Reg was $X.XX, Mid was $X.XX + 10¢, and Prem was $X.XX + another 10¢. Then for some reason they raised the up charges by 5¢ each and now there is a 30¢ difference between Reg and Prem, not the 20¢ there used to be.
I think that's a sneaky way to keep the Reg low and still make a better margin on the mid and premium grades.
What's the bump between grades in other area?
My son lives in Des Moines and in IA the Mid grade is cheaper than Reg grade. Most of the plains states are that way.
They've accomplished what they wanted to do, make us HAPPY to be paying less than $2.00/gallon.
