So am I crazy?
« on: April 11, 2008, 07:42:24 PM »

The dealer called this week and had a canyon copper seuc available. I was all stoked couldn't wait to get over there and see it, and of course bring it home this weekend... I walk in the door and I am in love with the bike, the motor, the chrome, and god dammit I want it, but what do you mean it isn't red? Every picture that I have seen of it, it is the prettiest, deep red color that I want, than I see it in the sun and it is more orange. now don't get me wrong it is still pretty but it just isn't what I expected. I feel like a four year old in a candy store full of sugar free treats.... I want it but why cant the Mo Co just see the color I want and make it just for me... lol...

so I have a few days until I have to official turn it down. So I put it out how crazy am I for turning it down... an extra note curiosity always killed the cat so maybe I should wait for the '09.... but I want to ride to sturgis..... alright I am starting to sound like the four year old!

if a deep red is what you want (that color will not do!)  but you could paint it?    buy custom paint set $$$$

switch to the Ghost or Durcell or wait till next year and let them disappoint you again.

unsubstantiated rumor had the CVO touring bike next year to be the Street Glide........would make sense to make a CVO out of one of their

hottest selling touring bikes of late!   who Knows?    But My real Vote is to get the bike......you will learn to love it or you will paint it

neat thing about Paint is you get exactly what you want.......... not many have the balls to take the CVO and just paint over it

but I am already tired of someone pulling up to me with the exact same $40,000.00 bike........Maybe I should Paint Mine????

It all depends on the lighting, see if they'll take it outside for you. I initially wanted white/silver, but mine was what they had first. I've grown to love it very quickly and wouldn't trade for any other color.

I would love to have a full dresser of the ultra but also like the classic, clean look for the street glide so that might not be such a bad thing....

It just seems shameful to cover up the oem paint of a screaming eagle.... I guess that comes from years of looking at classic cars and a vin coded/matched classic always nice to see.

Dealer here has a new one on the floor asking $35,995 but is dealing on everything now. Also there is a casper (used) with 64 miles and a duracell with 1,600 miles. I don't remember seeing so many new and used SEEG's or SEUC's available in late spring in past years. True or am I just so paranoid about the 110? :nixweiss:

Hey, I understand.  Last summer when the 08's first showed up on the HD web site, it looked RED to me.  And, I really wanted a RED bike.  I finally found one close, and drove about two hours to get a look.  I had been on the edge of buying a new SEUC for a couple of years, but the paint for the past few years really didn't do anything for me (except maybe the Autumn Haze).

Anyway, when I walked back in the shop where they were just starting to get the bike set up, I was kinda taken back when I saw the color in person.  I had my heart set on RED and then saw ORANGE.  I had to look at it for several minutes - walk around it - look it over.  It wasn't RED, but it looked great.  I really like the Copper Canyon.  It's an unusual color - kinda changes in different types of light.  I get a lot of good comments on the paint.

I never keep any bike (or vehicle) very long.  I know that in 2 - 4 years I'll probably sell it and get a new bike (maybe RED??).

I also know that HD will be changing the motors - no question - EPA regulations are going to force it.  So, in a few years, when they have had a couple of years to work the bugs out of the next motor (hopefully!), I will be getting a new bike again.
